Topper began to head back to the dock. The search party was nearly over anyways. His plan was to go straight to the Cameron's and tell Ward what he had seen. That was his main priority, nothing else.
Topper was so busy planning what he was going to say in his head that he didn't barely noticed the boat opposite him. In fact, he didn't notice it at all; he just rode right past it.
There were two men in the boat. Specifically, the two men that Topper had gotten a bad vibe from earlier. They were headed towards where the Pogues were.

"Hey, guys?" Kiara said. "Guys, bogey, two o'clock."
"What?" JJ said, turning his head to see what Kiara was looking at.
"Do you recognise that boat?" Pope asked.
Genevieve stood up next to JJ to see what all the commotion was about.
"I've never seen it," Kiara said.
"Me neither," Genevieve added.
"What are they doing back here? The marsh is closed," Kiara continued.
"I don't know. Let's not stick around and find out," JJ said, a hint of skepticism showing in his voice.
Genevieve glanced over at him briefly before turning her attention back to the boat. She squinted. She could make out two men on it, but that was all. No facial features, just figures.
"JJ, get the bowline?" John B asked.
"Yeah," JJ said with a nod.
"Should we wait on them?" Pope asked.
"No we're not waiting on them. Go get the stern. Go!" John B replied, swatting Pope on the shoulder.
"Are you joking? JJ, hurry up," Kiara said.
"They're getting close, guys," Genevieve said, panic rising in her voice.
"Guys, don't wait for me. Go," JJ said, quickly pulling up the bowline.
"Let's go!" Kiara exclaimed.
"Pull out the stern," Pope instructed to JJ.
"I don't like the look of this," John B said.
"Are they coming for us?" JJ asked as he walked back over next to Genevieve.
"Maybe they're fishing," Pope said.
"Go, go, go, go!" JJ said in a panic as the other boat began to speed up.
"Go into the marsh." Pope instructed to John B.
"Let's go!" Genevieve heard Kiara yell.
"I'm going. Act natural," John B muttered.
