The fairly large house of Tiff came into view at the end of sycamore drive making me shiver with fear. I had know clue if her parents were home or even her older siblings. I quickly pulled to the shoulder of the road making my brakes start to squeak as i came to a stop. I was just out of seeing distance from Amanda's front window, practically hiding behind a huge oak tree. I snatched my phone out from my backpack not paying attention to the seventeen missed calls from mom that was laying in the back seat. I immediately started to punch in the numbers. I had to retype the last few numbers before I pressed call to make sure I didn't end up calling a random person that was on the other end of the earth. The phone dialed four times before a high pitch voice sounded through the phone.

" Hello?" I waited, biting my lip nervously to ask if she was home alone making sure it wasn't Tiff's mom answering the phone. I waited still biting the inside of my lip.

" Hello? Who is this?" I held my breath I couldn't tell if it was Tiff or Tiff's mom they always sound strangely exactly the same when talking over the phone.

" Hey is Tiff there?" I still held my breath biting my bottom lip.

" Im right here what do you want?" I finally exhaled in relief. Thank goodness it was Tiff and not her mom I don't know what I would end up saying to her if it was really her.

" Yeah, uhmm, are you home?" My body tensed up for no apparent reason making me get chills up my back.

" Uh yeah, Why?" Her voice started to crackle in and out. I shook my ancient phone hoping that a few jostles would put back anything out of place back into it's correct spot even though it was most likely just because i'm not even a hundred yards away from her.

" Good! Are you alone?" My voice peaked with hope.

" Uh, yeah my parents are out of town for the week and Dean goes to college remember?" I remembered her saying that her parents went to London for the week to meet up with this super special client that was going to pay like a million dollars for one of Tiff's Mom's paintings but it totally passed my mind when I was almost speeding to get to Tiff's house. To worried to think about Tiff's parents getaway plans.

"Is the front door unlocked?" I was almost ready to fling out of my seat as if my truck had a self eject button.

" Yeah. Uhh. " her voice studdard.

" kay, i'm on my way!" My finger moved over the end call button before Tiff could say. "wait!"

I restarted my ignition. A low rumbling sound came from the hood of my truck than it died down to silence. I tried again. " eh, eh, eh , Vroo, eh, eh " than silence. I slammed my fist against the dash. My eyes peeked up from behind the steering wheel where my head lay with agitation. I glared at the tan house. Than I looked down to my rags of clothing. I angrily grabbed the door handle, pushing it open making my feet drag with it. the cold air made me take a sharp intake of breath. I slammed my truck door making the truck shake a little. I wrapped myself as tight as i could with my shirt trying to conserve as much body heat that was left inside it. I hustled along through the snow hurriedly making my way closer to Tiff's front door. Im so glad Tiff's parents decided they wanted to live deep within the country of Watson makes me feel so much better about my lesser amount of clothing that I happen to be wearing today. The cool white puffs of my breath surrounded me making me shiver more. I started to move quicker with more haste in between each step. My feet hit hard pavement making loud thumps under my feet. A non familiar black car was in Tiff's driveway along with Tiff's yellow volkswagen beetle. I ignored it and keep walking. I'd rather not think about who's car that is. My feet made the floorboards on the porch creak every step I took. Tiff was right the door was unlocked.
