The spaghetti seemed like it was done cooking. Larry carried it over to the water fountain and poured it into the collander. Hot water splashed and hit his hand.

"Ow!" Larry yelped.

"Dumb dumb?" The stone called from around the corner.

"I'm alright."

Larry brought the colander back to his workspace. He crushed some garlic into the noodles and stirred it. His favorite part, as the garlic smelled so strong, like a teaser of the taste that was to come. He emptied a portion of the noodles into the bowl. The Moai watched on in anticipation. The sauce had warmed a significant amount, so much that the glass bottle was hot to the touch. Larry hiked his hand up into his sleeve and unscrewed the lid, pouring a reasonable amount onto the noodles. It was only then that he realized he'd forgotten cheese.

"I forgot cheese."

"Dumb dumb don't mind."

Larry made up for it with an extra sprinkling of salt over top of the dish. His masterpiece was complete. Who would have ever thought the night guard of the American Museum of Natural History would be making spaghetti for a multi-ton stone head on the floor in the middle of the night. Larry stood up, walked around his setup, and presented his dish to the head.

"Dinner... is served" Larry made an awkward little flourish with his free arm.

"Feed."

Larry stared, then remembered. "Oh yeah, no arms."

Larry lifted the fork, swirled it, and produced a heft of noodles and sauce. Then he fed him the spaghetti.

The Moai's chewing was accompanied by a satisfied "mm".

When he'd finished his first bite, the stone giant said, "Salt. Taste like home."

The statue devoured the rest of the bowl.

When Larry came into work the next evening, he was met by his boss, Dr. McPhee.

"Larry! I understand it's your first week here and we have come to many agreements the two of us but this one I find downright strange; Larry, why, is there pasta sauce, on the Easter Island head?"

Larry chuckled. Now that would be hard to explain.

"Busy night!" He called back, as he walked away toward the east hall.
