Your P.O.V (Mello's house with Matt)

It was a normal day like any other. I was at Mello's house and Matt was over too. I'm a little lost in my thoughts lately. Mello and I have been together for a while now.. But I can't help but feel a little useless. I don't let my emotions show on my face as best as I can.

I listen to them talk about the Kira case. We had found out that Light Yagami was Kira. But, as fate would have it.. Another person got their hands on the death note, and are carrying out his wishes. The worst part is that this guy is smart. He has a ton of 'pawns' at his disposal.

Mello and Matt don't let me get involved with the case because of what happened last time I was. I shrugged it off with a small 'fine' and then they went to work. I haven't been able to help at all... I'm totally useless.. What does he even see in me...?

"(y/n)?" Mello asked curiously. I looked up quickly and sat straight. "Yeah?" I said. "Why were you hanging your head and slouching over?" He asked. Shoot! I was doing that? I didn't even know..

"N-no reason.. Uh I'm going to go take a walk, I'll be back soon" I said quickly. He nodded and said "yeah, sure okay. Be back soon (y/n)" Matt said a quick "be safe" before I went out the door with my purse.

-time skip-

I ended up at.... A train station.. Well might as well, I'll just ride it and ride it back. I boarded the train and sat in a seat a man in a suit gave up for me. After I thanked him and smiled and leaned back and looked straight ahead.

'Why can't I shake these feelings...? No.. Why can't I be useful? Am I not good enough? How can he want me..? Why-' and then all I saw was black.

-you fall into a deep sleep-

Normal P.O.V (Mello and Matt)

Almost thirty minutes after you left Mello starts to worry. 'She said she wouldn't be long, it was just a walk' he grimaced. It was getting dark outside and you hadn't come back yet. "Where the hell did she go anyway? It's gonna get dark soon" Mello grunted. "I'm worried too. She probably just went home and fell asleep. Don't worry so much."

"Yeah. Probably." Mello agreed and they went back to work. Mello though 'At least..... I hope so....'

Your P.O.V

I woke up with a start. The train was almost empty except for a few people. I looked outside the window and was very disturbed at what I saw. There wasn't any civilization, it was a desert. 'What the hell? Did I fall asleep on the train?'

Soon a city was in sight. It was very large with lots of other towns and neighborhoods around it. 'A city in the desert? Weird.' I was still half asleep and didn't realize the gravity of the situation.

This is really far away from Japan.. I must be in America. Damn. What is this? A country train? I checked and sure enough, that's what it was. (I'm not sure if this is real, but I made this up as train the gets transferred over seas by ferry and crap.)
