And it's here! The day is here! Days had passed so quickly and within a blink of an eye, the marriage of Ashwin and Pavithra is here!
Everyone was very nervous, more than anyone Sivaangi was the most nervous since after this, Pavi is going to go to her in law's house. But, she put on a smile on her face as she didn't want to further sadden her stressed parents.
Both families were at the marriage hall and relatives were invited, everyone was running around getting everything ready for the moohoortham.
It was nearly time, Sivaangi was getting Pavi ready for her big moment anxiously.
Outside, Ashwin was sitting in the Manamedai chanting matras that the Iyer was telling him.
He was wearing a white veshti sattai. He looked extremely handsome and manly in his attire. Although he looked joyous on the outside, a whirlwind of emotions were orbiting inside him.
Iyer: Ponna kuptutu vanga!
Binni ma nods and walks to the room Pavi was getting ready in. She knocks on the door.
The door opens to a gorgeous woman preened in a red and gold saree and jewellery that burnished in the assortment of lights shining at them.
Binni ma's eyes wells up with tears. Seeing her little princess all grown and now getting married just felt unbelievable in that moment. She cracked her knuckles.
Binni ma: Yen kanne pattudum pola irruku, romba azhaga irruka Pavi!
Pavi: Thank you ma!
Binni ma: Cheri va! Neeyum vaa Sivaangi!
Sivaangi who was standing next to Pavi, nods enthusiastically and takes Pavi to the stage.
Pavi is taken to the stage and she sat down next to Ashwin who gave her a warm smile. She returned the smile and the couple began chanting the martams that the Iyer told them to say.
Sivaangi was standing right next to Pavi reassuring her often, shocking Pavi with her maturity. But, what Pavi didn't sense is, Sivaangi's peturbation lingering inside her.
Soon enough, the thalli was given to Srinisha who went around the hall getting everyone's blessings. Srinisha came back with the tamboolam plate and handed it over to the Iyer.
The thalli was given to Ashwin's thatha who blessed it whole heartedly and gave it to Ashwin with tears. Both families were in tears...
Iyer: Ketimelam! Kettimelam!
And that was it! Ashwin tied the thalli around Pavi's neck as tears began flowing from her eyes and she began to sob.
Ashwin whispered: Everything is going to be ok...
They then stood up and went around the fire seven times taking their vows with their pinkies conjoined.
He assuringly held her hand and she reciprocated it. The couple went to get blessings from the elders. They first went to Ashwin's grandfather and got his blessings.
Thatha: Rendu perum nooru varusam nalla irukanum!
They then went to Ashwin's parents and got their blessings. Deepa ma was in tears.
Deepa ma: Rendu perum nalla irunga pa!
She kissed Pavi's forehead while Ashwin hugged his dad. Then, Deepa ma kissed Ashwin's forehead.
Binni ma and Krishnakumar pa both blessed them as well.
Pavi went to Sivaangi who was sobbing continuously, both of them hugged each other and sobbed.
After sometime, both of them calmed down a little bit and parted.
