A well formed, spruce gentleman stepped out of his resplendent conveyance, buttoning the top button of his polychrome cotton blazer. Setting his umber brown hair, he looked up at the edifice in front of him.
"RKL GROUP OF INDUSTRIES"
Sighing nervously, he paced into it with his PA Ananya racing to match his varying tempo. Entering the reception, he signalled Ananya to ask the receptionist about his appointment who just managed to catch her breath. Nodding, she walked up to the receptionist who simultaneously put down the phone and turned towards her with a warm smile.
Receptionist: Hello miss, how may I help?
Ananya : We're here to meet Mr Ashwin Kumar Lakmishminathan.
Receptionist: I see, do you have an appointment for this meeting?
Ananya helplessly turned to her boss who already stood scowling at her negligence.
Ananya: Sir-
Boss: You didn't book an appointment, did you? he interrupted her in a menacingly calm timbre.
Ananya : It..i..t slipped my mind, I apologies for my discrepancy sir...
Boss: Repeat this once more time and that termination letter of yours will surely not slip my mind!
Ananya inclined her head in fright of her boss's public threat and huffed in defeat. She looked up to see her boss averting his perturbing gaze from her to the rather confounded receptionist.
Boss: Sorry, but due to my PA's incompetence of understanding simple instructions, we do not have an appointment. Is there a way I can force in a small meeting? I promise it won't take more than 15 minutes.
Receptionist (huffing): Sir, I understand, I'll try my best... please take a seat, I'll get back to you...
Boss: Ok, Thanks a lot...
He turned towards Ananya who was still frowning at his choice of words to tell the receptionist that they don't have an appointment. He raised his eyebrows dubiously to which she immediately yet strenuously shakes her head sensing yet another tantrum awaiting her if she opens her mouth.
He walks over to the convenient seating for 1 and makes himself comfortable. He takes out his phone and scrolls through it cordially. Ananya rolls her eyes annoyed at her boss's etiquette.
Boss: Did I just witness you roll your eyes at me, Miss Ananya? he still continued scrolling through his phone.
Ananya: Uhmm.. no sir, I would-
Boss: Hmmm, maybe I am hallucinating, who knows?
Ananya: Mmmm.. Maybe sir...
Boss: Sorry?
Ananya: Uhhh..mmm what I meant was-
Boss: I don't want to hear it.
Ananya Mv: What's with him and interrupting me? Pillayare, naan unkitta nalla yedathula thaane velai ketten? Indha bipolar irrukura bison kitta yen maati vitta??
Receptionist: Sir, your meeting with Ashwin sir has been arranged... please don't be long, sir has meetings lined up after this.
Boss: Thank you, I won't...
The receptionist nodded with a smile and carried on with her work. Ananya reluctantly followed her boss, seeing him enter the lift.
Entering the 24th floor, they scurried through the eyes that stared at them with obscurity. Ananya walked ahead of her boss and knocked on the door.
