"Actually, the three of us were orphans and our old man Garp adopted us" Sabo spoke out of nowhere

Everyone gasped in surprise. Even Luffy's longest friends didn't even know about it

"Ace's father was a criminal which made the other children fear and hate him as well as our caretakers"

"He knew he was hated so if he was just going to be hated by the person he loves, he decided to hate first before that happens" he said sadly

"Then, Luffy came to the orphanage. He heard the rumours about Ace but he still chased him for months while the other tried to push him away but Luffy still admired him so much" he smiled while reminiscing the memories

"One day, Luffy finally caught up with Ace. Without realizing it, he smiled for the first time and that made Luffy smile as well. They were both happy and began to bond"

Sabo went quiet for a minute as a soft smile appeared on his face

"Ace.... The person who used to search for yesterday was now gone. He was loved so much by Luffy that he forgot what hating himself felt like"

Everyone was sobbing especially Franky and Chopper. He looked at Zoro and smiled

"That's why he tries to interfere with you and Luffy because he's afraid that you'll take him away from him"

Everyone looked at the duo who were pointing at the stars. They were busy laughing and talking

"He doesn't want another person to enter his younger brother's life. He's scared that Luffy won't love him anymore but knowing Luffy, his love for someone will never fade. Even if he gets a boyfriend, Ace and I will always be his number oneand he will never stop admiring us" he finished his speech

Luffy approached and sat with them as he took a cake

"Zoro, Ace wants to talk to you" he informed the other and ate the cake

He stood up and went beside the other. They remained silent for a minute until the older boy decided to speak first

"They said you need to love yourself first before you love someone else" he started speaking and the other listened attentively

"That's bullshit" he laughed and he watched his younger brother from a distance who was loudly laughing. Zoro followed his gaze and it landed on Luffy

"But Luffy, oh God. I love him so much that he made me love myself" he smiled genuinely and the other's heart warmed upon hearing it

He was amazed by their strong bond and he understood why Ace's was so against him. He understood how precious and important Luffy was to Ace

"I know I've been really stubborn and immature. But when he's with you, his happiness seems to multiply" he chuckled

They got quiet again as they both listened to Luffy's melodic giggle

"Just promise me you will take care of Luffy and please don't ever make him sad" he pleaded and the other looked at him with assuring gaze

"I'm not even sure if he likes me tho but I promise"

Ace smiled knowingly and punched Zoro's chest lightly

"Welcome to the family, Zoro" this statement made Zoro's eyes widened in surprise. He hastily composed himself and relaxed his tensed shoulders

"Thank you, Ace" he smiled back and they both went back to the circle while laughing wholeheartedly
