(Y/n) sighed as she tapped her heel against the ribbed ground of the bus she was riding. The day was hot and she needed the air conditioning of the bus before going out and dealing with her mother.
She just hoped that Katsuki was okay with Chiyo. She never left Chiyo's side for even a minute—scared that she would get hurt or someone could magically steal her away. Of course, as a single mother—and slightly inexperienced mother—she was anxious about leaving her alone.
The thought quickly left her as the bus stopped, echoing her designated stop.
——
Katsuki was plopped down on the couch, Chiyo laying comfortably on his chest as they watched some random TV show that (Y/n) put on for the two of them.
The blond rolled his eyes at the thought, does she think of me as some kid?
Blushing in embarrassment of even questioning the pretty girl, Katsuki turned his attention to the girl resting happily on his chest. Her eyes were round and an identical shade of (e/c) just like her mother's. A smile crossed his features under he turned back to the tv, the new flashed onto the screen—showing signs of a severe thunderstorm coming towards them.
"Did she ever pack an Umbrella?" Katsuki murmurs.
Chiyo cooed at him, her eyes glazed over with confusion.
---
(Y/n) stared at the sky in dismay as the dark grey clouds began to coat the sky, the light drizzle catching her attention before she turned back to the table that she was sitting at. Thankfully, the cafe that she had chosen had indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't busy that much, honestly, she was really hoping that she could get some quality time with her mother.
The young girl fumbled with her fingers, biting her bottom lip nervously as she adjusted her bag to fill the empty feeling of her hands. She was so used to carrying Chiyo that she felt weightless without her in her arms.
Small clouds formed around her hands due to her lack of control of her quirk, which was beginning to grab some attention of the customers around her.
Her eyes wandered to the different faces of the customers until her shoulders tensed when the bell of the front door chimed, she whipped her head around only to feel relieved to not see her mother there.
Her thoughts paused momentarily, why did I feel relieved?
When the girl checked her wrist for the time, she was met with the cold voice of her mother behind her.
"(Y/n)," her voice was raspy and sent brutal chills down the girl's spine, her eyes widened and she forced a wide smile as she hopped up from the chair and went to hug her mother. Only to be stopped when the older woman made her way to the other side of the table. The (h/c)-haired girl awkwardly sat back down, her arms making their way back to her sides before she glanced up at the graying (h/c)-haired 40-year-old.
(Y/n) cleared her throat, the second-year gulping nervously, thankfully, a waitress came to her invisible aid and offered a customer-worthy smile as she held her small notebook and pen to take their order.
"Hi~, welcome to our Cafe, what would you like to get started with today?" the seemingly innocent girl broke out in a nervous chuckle when the older woman of the two ignored her completely.
The waitress's smile fell for a moment before she turned to the equally nervous girl, "What would you like to drink, miss?" her cheery(less cheery than before) tone knocked the (h/c)-haired teen out her trance.
(Y/n) stammered before answering briskly, "a iced Vanilla Coffee with two pumps of Caramel," she had already memorized her order since she was a first-year in middle school. She and Katsuki had been here several times to study with Chiyo, when she had recognized the Waitress, she thinned out her lips and all the color in her face drained.
The girl seemingly had recognized the girl at the same time and her cheery voice came back in an instant.
"I see that you're not with your boyfriend today, is that all you're getting today?" By the time the word 'Boyfriend' had left the girl's throat, (Y/n)'s mother had immediately shifted her attention back to her daughter.
(Y/n) cut off her mother before the woman could address the situation and smiled back up at the girl, "No, not today, and yes--that'll be all, thank you," (e/c) electric irises crashed into doe-like hues when (Y/n) had met the gaze of her mother once again.
The waitress left without any further questions and (Y/n) was left alone again.
"What's with that--You have a boyfriend now?" Her mother scoffed, and crossed her arms over her chest. (Y/n) kept her calm composure, her fist tightening on her overalls.
She felt annoyed, why was her mother now worrying about if she was dating someone or not?
The teen let a smile cross her features before glaring at her mother, the sound of the rain pouring outside drowned out by the several gasps echoing throughout the cafe. (Y/n)'s palm stung as she watched her Mother's hand reach up to caress the red skin of her cheek.
"..You--"
"I don't think that I'll be contacting you for some time, Chiyo is doing fine, I'm doing fine, and me having a Boyfriend is not your business." the girl clicked her tongue. (Y/n) stood to her feet and set down a few bills down and gave the woman a sickening sweet grin, "Have a nice day, Haruto," the smaller teen bowed her head before bowing to the employee's and customers before leaving through the cafe entrance.
The rain soaked through the girl's clothes and her hair matted down from the cold drops, the rain stopped above her head, making her glance up to see the sandy-blond teenager and her daughter in his arms. The umbrella was big enough to cover the two of them.
(Y/n)'s eyes widened and filled with tears as she rested her forehead on the boy's shoulder.
Even on the walk back from the Cafe, Katsuki had stayed quiet the entire time.
