I woke up with my head in his lap. He'd put clothes on but I was still naked under the sheets.
I groaned a little.
"Good morning." He said softly.
I noticed the book in his hands. "What are you reading?"
"New Moon. I thought I'd pick it back up since you liked it." He smiled down at me.
"I should probably go..." I sighed.
"Breakfast first?" He put the book on the nightstand.
"I wouldn't be opposed to that." I smiled.
...
I managed to convince my father that nothing happened last night. I had told Avox the entire story, well most of it.Prime was in a meeting today and Avox was with Noah, doing things I'd rather not witness. So I was alone in my room reading.
I had a bad habit of only reading the same six books, so today I was reading something new.
So far I liked the book. It was a nice escape from reality, but I could relate to a few things.
The main character was a princess and the book started on her wedding day. She had never met the guy she was supposed to marry, so she obviously didn't want to marry him.
So she ran away.
I found myself wondering if I could do what she did.
But I would have a gun instead of a dagger, a car instead of a horse, and cash instead of the family jewels.
I wondered where I would go. The princess went to a fishing village that her friend new well.
I didn't have the luxury of a fishing village.
Or a friend.
I was pulled out of my fantasy by the sound of a gunshot. Followed by a scream.
I opened my door into the hallway and saw my father holding a gun, locking the door to Avox's bedroom.
"Dad? What's going on!" He was shaking with rage, his eyes softened a little when he looked at me.
"Your brother is a disgrace." He walked down the hallway with his jaw clenched.
My heart fell to my feet.
I ran up to the door and tried to open it.
