Your heart dropped at her words, and you were quick to look at Toji. He looked back at you, with the same expression. You both were in shock. You looked back at her, again since staring at Toji would definitely be too weird.
The only person excited in the room, other than Mrs. Fushiguro, was Tsumiki. Megumi looked as if he had just received bad news. You didn't know how you were supposed to react. You definitely weren't supposed to be sad or angry, but those were the feelings that were overtaking you. You put up a fake smile.
"Congratulations! Another member to your family." You looked back and forth between Toji and Mrs. Fushiguro. Toji couldn't even put up a smile, even if his life depended on it.
"Thank you, Y/N. You're part of the family, now. Remember that." She smiled. Tsumiki looked so excited, and she wanted to tell her mother so many things, but you barely had any time.
"Sorry to cut the celebration short but we have to go." You reminded the kids, and they nodded.
"Oh, don't worry about it, Y/N. Let me go get changed and I'll drive them." Mrs. Fushiguro stood up, and began walking towards the stairs. It would just waste more time, but there was nothing you could really say anyways. She did what she wanted. Her announcement was just a reminder that you were nothing but the nanny.
You just wanted to drop to the ground and cry. But you couldn't. The children stared at you. One of them shared their excitement while the other stood quiet. Everyone in the room wished they could've had the same reaction as Tsumiki.
It felt as if the clock slowed down when she went up. Every breath you took felt like so much work. There was a lump in your throat that held back a sob.
You couldn't stand being in the living room for another minute, so you walked to the kitchen. You took a glass and filled it with water, hoping that it would in a way help you calm down. You chugged the water, and it did help you control yourself for a minute or so but you felt the tears about to spill out.
You felt like a fool. You were messing with a married man, you should've expected this. You didn't understand why you expected loyalty from his part when he was literally cheating with you. He vowed to love her and remain faithful to her for the rest of their lives, and he broke that vow; and yet somewhere in your mind you expected him to be a loyal man when he hadn't even said to you a thing about not cheating.
But that wasn't the only reason why you felt like a fool. You knew he wasn't feeling the same way you were feeling. He most likely wasn't feeling that pain you had in your chest. He hadn't shown any emotion, but he was one to rarely smile. He was probably happy. Another child that he could try again with.
She finally came down, ready. She walked over to her husband to place a kiss on his cheek before informing the children to go to her car. They followed. She waved at you before leaving.
The moment the front door shut, you sobbed. The last thing you wanted to do, but something that was uncontrollable. You had already held it in for too long.
The last thing you wanted to do was break down in front of him, so you began heading to your room. The only problem was that he was standing near there, still too shocked about the news. You attempted to walk really fast so that he couldn't see your face.
His hand was on your wrist, just as you expected it. He wanted to talk, but you didn't want to hear a word.
"Remember what I told you. She's having an affair. That child is not mine." He claimed, and you kept your back to him. You didn't want to face him.
"She's not a dumb woman, Toji. Why would she announce her pregnancy if you two weren't sleeping together? That would just tell you that she was having an affair." You responded.
"Don't you trust me?" He asked. The tone in his voice filled you with rage. You finally turned around, making him clearly see your glossy eyes.
"Why should I? Why should I trust a man like you?" You questioned. As to be expected, he was left speechless. "When was the last time?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?" He obliviously responded. You rolled your eyes, not having the patience. He wasn't dumb, he knew exactly what you were talking about, he just tried to decide on what to respond.
"When was the last time you slept with her?" You raised your voice, something you weren't exactly aware of since you were ticked off.
"A month ago. When we went to the hotel, and I left early." He revealed, making you chuckle. You couldn't believe him. You couldn't believe yourself either, and your reaction. You didn't have the mentality that you were the other woman, which is something that you should've had from the very first time you slept together.
"You told me you were coming back. So what were you planning? Fucking me after fucking her? You know what, I'm actually glad that you forgot about me." You argued and he furrowed his eyebrows.
"She's my wife. I have to do whatever to keep her happy." He stated.
"You're right, Mr. Fushiguro. Now would you please do me the favor of letting go of my arm, and leaving me alone. Preferably not speaking to me again unless it has to do with the children." You attempted to push him away, but his grip was too strong.
"Shit- I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that, Y/N. I just have the tendency of getting defensive and spewing shit." He apologized but you weren't feeling so forgiving.
"I meant what I said though, Mr. Fushiguro. Please leave me alone." You looked him in the eyes, and you could tell he was hurt.
"That child is not mine. She's more than a month pregnant. She's been having morning sickness for longer. I used a condom. It's not mine." He claimed once again which for some reason only made you laugh.
"Leave me alone. I'm just the nanny. If that child is or isn't yours, it doesn't concern me." He finally let go of your arm. He stared at you, a distressed look on his face.
What the hell was he planning on doing?
"Please listen to me, Y/N." He begged but you weren't having it.
"I have other things to do, Mr. Fushiguro. Please leave me alone." You didn't care how many times you had to repeat it, you just wanted to be left alone for at least an hour.
"Listen to me, please. Let me clear things up." He insisted, making you glare at him.
"Please leave me alone, Mr. Fushiguro."
