POV (Tommy)

If I'm being completely honest, I'm excited to go shopping. Not because I'm going with Wilbur, god no, I just want to get nice things.

"We're here Tommy," Wilbur turns to me in the passenger seat.

"Good, let's get out and buy some shit already!"

Wilbur just simply nodded as we both went into the store. I dragged Wilbur across every inch of the store. Wilbur bought me random weird toys, a Lovejoy poster, a knitting kit, a shit load of yarn, and some pants. Of course, the essentials. Also food, I guess.

"Let's head back before you spend all my good earned money," Wilbur joked with a slightly worrying smile.

POV (Wilbur Soot)

Shit. I don't have too much money. I've spent a good portion of my paycheck on Tommy's things. Working at the office barely pays my bills, especially since I haven't worked for a few days. How much damage is this going to cause?

It was late at night and I was checking the numbers of how much I needed to work to be able to pay the rent and bills.

"Overnight shift." I sighed under my breath. Then I see a little head peek into my room.

"Thanks for buying me things!" Tommy is there, smiling, "What about an overnight shift?"

"No need to worry about Tommy. Just adult things. I'm going to work overnight for a week. If I can, I'll have Phil or Techno babysit you."

Tommy pouts, "I want to know about the adult things, and I don't need no babysitter. "

I roll my eyes, "Tommy."

Tommy decides it's not worth it and leaves, muttering thanks as he goes. I needed some good sleep if I wanted to get that money from the overnight shift.

POV (Tommy)

Gently I open the door. Yes. He was asleep. I couldn't help but feel curious about what he was hiding from me. What was so important? Why would he keep it a secret from me?

I start rummaging through a bunch of his papers on his desk, and reading each one I find while being as silent as possible.

"Woah," I muttered under my breath.

Wilbur had spent so much money on me to the point where he couldn't afford two of the bills. Damn. Really?

"What the fuck?"

Quickly I realized that I said that a bit too loud, and I heard shuffling near me. No. Please don't say I woke him up?

"Tommy?"

Dammit.

POV (Wilbur Soot)

As soon as I wake up I see Tommy at my desk, with my papers sprawled across each inch of it. Did he really go through my stuff?

"Tommy. Why did you go through my stuff?" I asked in a stern, yet sleepy voice.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, I swear."

Tommy definitely did it on purpose. Was he really that nosy that he'd go through my stuff just to know why I was going to work overnight?

I sighed, "Tommy, you cannot be doing this. I should be allowed privacy, and you'll have privacy as well. It should be mutual. Now, tell me. What did you see?"

"I saw that you couldn't pay the bills so that's why you have to work overnight," Tommy explained, "Also that it was all my fault."

"That's not entirely true. I haven't been working hard lately so I've been getting paid less. Buying stuff for you was just a small add on."

Tommy frowned, feeling guilty. It was true though, that he wasn't the main reason I had no money. I was just not a good worker at my firm. Phil and Techno on the other hand were much better off.

Phil lives in a paid off house with his wife, and still gets to buy new games to play. Techno lives alone in an apartment with his dog Floof, and he's content with that life. They both are.

I'm miserable. I am an adult, no love life, no pet, and now with a teenager. What has my life become?

POV (Tommy)

I just stare at Wilbur, who is deep in thought. Did I do something wrong? What's up with him? I gently put my hand on his shoulder, him jumping up at the sudden touch.

"Sorry, sorry, I was just thinking about something. It's still late, so go to bed Tommy." Wilbur demands.

Being exhausted, I complied. I went to my room and laid on my bed. My room is so comforting.

Wait. My room? What the hell am I saying?

This isn't my home.
