~Hopes POV~
I just have to knock. That's all I have to do. He will understand he is like a second father to me. How in the hell do I tell him my crazy wolf genes are trying to force me to be with his daughter? Before I can build the courage to finally knock the office door opens and there stand Alaric. "Hope? What are you doing here it's the middle of the night?" He asks me, shock clearly written all over his features. "We need to talk Dr. Saltsman." Is all I can force myself to say. He looks at me with a worried expression "What's going on Hope?" I take in a shaky breath. "There is something I have to show you..." I say cautiously. He only nods telling me to continue. I slip my shirt over my head while holding my breath and slowly turn around so he can see what I saw. I hear a slight gasp coming from the man's mouth. "Josette.. as in" I cut him off, " As in your daughter.." I can hear his heart racing. "Why is her name on your shoulder Hope? Is it a tattoo! You are not telling me you got my daughters name tattooed on you Hope. You are seventeen!" He rushes out all at once. I can't help but laugh at his rambling. Momentarily calming down. " No I talked to Freya. It has to do with my wolf." I sigh out. And then I see it all hit him at once. He knows. "She's your mate.. But she's just a witch. There are no werewolf's in our family." He says oddly quietly. I laugh and he gives me a bewildered look as if to say how the hell are you laughing right now. " I'm the only one of my kind. Are we really gonna act like the universe doesn't screw me over every chance it gets? I'm the loop hole." I reply shaking my head slightly. "Does she know yet ?" He asks me finally calming down and his heart rate slowly starts going back to normal. I slightly shake my head no while directly my gaze to the floor. "Hope you have to tell her. Your wolf is going to start going crazy soon, it obviously has decided Josie is your mate." He half scolds half says softly. "NO! I'm different. You know that she can't know." I say quickly. He sighs and begins rub his neck. "I'm sorry Hope but this isn't a choice, you tell her or I will. It will be better coming from you than her father." He tells me sternly but I can still hear the caring tone to his voice. I sigh, defeated. "Can it at least wait until tomorrow? It's two a.m.?" I ask, begging him with my eyes to just agree. "Fine, but first thing in the morning you are both excused from class and I'll send her to your room." He sighs out. "Get some sleep Hope. You are gonna need it." He tells me softly. I simply nod and make my way back to my room. Tomorrow I lose her. I can't help but think to myself. I don't even have her and I'm going to lose her. I stare at the ceiling reeling in my thoughts, until the sweet release of sleep finally comes crashing over me.
