~Josie's POV~
What did she just say. I inhale a sharp breath. "I didn't know that mates were actually a thing, I thought they were proven a myth.." I say while looking into Hopes very blue eyes. She laughs softly. "Me to Jo." She almost whispers. I'm trying to read her expression but it's so sad and soft. She thinks I'm rejecting her. I reach over and lace my fingers with hers. "You know I used to have a crush on you when we were younger.." I begin to say and I see something cross her face but it's gone before I can even put a name to it. "I know you don't feel the same Jo... but I couldn't lie to you. I couldn't not explain as to why I've been acting weird and possessive over you." She said quietly. Without thinking I laughed and she looked at me like I had two heads. "I never said I didn't feel the same way Hope." I told her with a soft smile playing at my lips. She stared at me without speaking. Great you broke her Josie. " I mean what I'm saying is I've always felt drawn to you Hope, I always wanted to befriend you so I could at least be close to you. Even if couldn't have you."' I said while looking into her eyes. She finally broke into a small smile. There that beautiful smile is. "I will always be yours Josie." She said while staring into my eyes. Holy crap that was attractive. We sit there in a comfortable silence for about five minutes before I yawned. "I can go if you want to nap love." She says while brushing my hair out of my face. I smile softly. "How about you stay and nap with me ?" I almost whisper, scared that she will say no. She breaks out into a grin. "Of course Jo." She says. I lay down and pat the spot beside me. She lays down but keeps at least a foot of distance between us. It makes me smile at how careful she is being around me. "You know.. you could cuddle with me. It will help me sleep better." I say with the best pout I could manage. She smiles and opens her arms for me. I lie my head down on her chest and listen to her heart beat as her chest rises and falls. I feel her begin to play with my hair and slowly but surely I feel my eyes open and close until sleep consumes me.
