Chapter 101 – Trust To Truth
Ezekiel rubbed a hand up and down his back as he replied. "Well, in a nutshell Scent Marking basically means that you rub your bodily scent all over the things that you want to mark as yours. Its like putting an invisible stamp on an object or a piece of land." Ezekiel cleared his throat.
"For Leopards when we find a lover or begin a relationship, or even with close friends and family we Scent Mark that person. Its an intimate act that mostly requires the two individuals to rub against each other or all over each others things so....Do you see why I thought you were doing that before?"
Brandon smirked and plucked at the sheet by his knee as he turned and leaned back into Ezekiels chest. "Yeah I get it now, but Blue Boy I'm not a Shifter. So I can't smell your scent. Im still a mortal, or at least half a mortal anyway."
Ezkeiel snapped his fingers. "That's true!" He called, then he paused and sighed. "Hmmm, so what WERE you doing then? Come on, tell me! I really want to know now!"
Feeling the heat on his face all over again Brandon shrugged and softly admitted. "I...I was just enjoying your energy. I was..." Brandon slowed and grew quiet. He suddenly realized what he was saying and what else he would have to explain to Ezekiel about himself, about his disgusting urges and feelings when he interacted with the energy's of others, if he wanted the Guardian to understand. He loved Ezekiel but it was still strange having to speak about these things so freely.
Ezekiel leaned into him and rubbed his arm. "What about my energy?" he asked.
Brandon lifted his left hand and gestured all around the room and hesitantly explained. "I never said anything before we got taken before, but I can sense the energies of living things all around me. It's something I've always been able to do. It's how I hunt you see? A sense of the life around me pulses in my mind all the time. I can't stop it. I can block it out but I never knew why I had the ability to sense things that way but now....I think its part of my Druid Blood. It helps me find living things so I can...feed I guess." Brandon negated a shudder of dislike as he continued. 'This room is saturated in your essence Blue boy and I can sense that residue. I can feel it....I can feel the Ether around me that comes from you."
"Really?" The Guardian rumbled thoughtfully. "Does that mean if we go into a Village or down into the kitchen you can see and feel the energy of everything there too? Everyone?"
"Yes..." Brandon gently replied, then explained. "But there is a limit. I can't really sense things more than a few feet away from me unless there are a lot of people gathered in one single place. Also, its not just that I sense energy. I consume it for nourishment, so to me the energies around me don't have a sound or a color to them they have a taste and a feeling..."
"Ok, like what? Give me an example." Ezekiel pressed.
The Druid sighed feeling slightly sick. "Well, with you when I feed on your energy it tastes like spices. Like spices and the best white chocolate and ...GOD when I take you in, it feels like liquid sunlight and something else." Brandon quietly stumbled to a whisper. "When I take in the energy of most things there is a taste...and its like being touched by lust and hunger all at once..." Brandon closed his eyes.
"Huh...So, Spices and Chocolate? What a coincidence...." Ezekiel quietly hissed, then he chuckled and shrugged. "So what you're telling me is that you like it, right? You find it pleasurable to feed on Ether, and on me?"
Brandon couldn't help but laugh at the clueless question. "Oh man. I like it yes....I enjoy it much more then you could ever know..."
"Ok, but I'm sensing a BUT in there somewhere....what's the issue?" Ezekiel gently probed next.
