Much later it was time. Brandon dreaded every second.

Ezekiel stood tall by the bedroom door and offered Brandon his hand. His blue eyes were clear of any fatigue. "Okay....I'm all yours."

"Great!" Brandon pretended to smile as he walked over to wall, and covertly slung the pack Glen had made for him up over his shoulder.

Ezekiel eyed the bag as he took Brandon's hand and they headed for the door. "Huh? What's in the bag?"

"Clean clothes for tomorrow." Brandon supplied quick enough. "I kinda figured we were going to be crashing out there since it's so late in the afternoon already."

"Right....uh Are you sure youre okay with that? I mean we did get taken from there and all, we can come back to the mansion if it makes you feel safer." Ezekiel offered like the caring sweet man that he was.

But Brandon had a response ready and waiting. "Ezekiel this is our last night to just be together and free of all the drama and stress. Let's just enjoy it." Brandon offered more to distract the Leopard as he took back the bag. Then he steeped up to Ezekiel took his hands and squeezed it.

"And besides even were away from the mansion tonight. I feel safe with you no matter where we go." Brandon confessed and because it was the truth his heart hurt. He had never thought he would find such precious things as love and safety in another and he had found all that and more in his Guardian. He knew he should be dammed to hell for even thinking of abandoning something so amazing.

Ezekiel smiled and kissed his cheek. "All right. I already have food and my own clothes out at the cabin. Let's stop and talk to Lander, then well hit moms room and pick up the materials well need to repair most of the damage to the bed and covers." Ezekiel put a hand to his chin and stopped to think for a moment then he snapped and continued.

"Nate mentioned that the walls and floor may have been damaged, but that they took the liberty to replace the bed that got cut by the Portal. So I'll go out to the shed and pick up so fresh paint and some resin and hay to pack the damaged areas."

About three hours later both Brandon and Ezkeiel found themselves a few miles away from the Mansion wrapping up the finally touches on the clean up of the damaged room in Ezkeiels infirmary.

The march out across the fields had been uneventful and calming for them both, and they shared their happiness to be together by holding hands and traversing the trails through the pine in no rush. Even taking twenty five minutes out to stop and have a hot and heavy make out session up again a very sturdy pine tree. Hands in clothes and tongues tangled as both of them seemed to have to fight with all of their might not to make love in broad daylight on the bare earth.

It was insane to Brandon how close it nearly came to disaster for them both and how much the ache he felt for Ezekiel made him almost not care. The Shifter had him so horny and turned on by time they broke apart he kinda wanted to cry out of frustration.

The room in the infirmary that had been damaged had been mostly cleaned of the spilled feathers and the bed that Lander said had been sliced had been removed and replaced with a new feather mattress from the Western Village in the Clan.

Together Brandon and Ezekiel had set about packing the gashes that had been created in the walls and floor by the Brotherhoods portal. The sun had set and cool light blanketed the Clan lands at that point.

Eventually it was time to pack up and remove the trash outside to the back pouch. Brandon busied himself with the task of sweeping, and making the bed for them both to share. He tried to put all of his focus and attention into the menial tasks because he knew he was a nervous wreck deep inside.
