________________(Later that Night)
(Y/n's POV)I couldn't sleep. I tossed and turned in my bed in my warm tent, huffing and groaning softly as my thoughts ran. Earlier I noticed Aslan's expression changed after the Witch left, like something was exchanged for Edmund's blood.
I sat up and huffed, rubbing my tireless eyes, and threw my cape on and grabbed my sword. I stepped out of my tent, breathing in the night air. Torches lit the outside of others tents, making it slightly lit through the night.
I heard what sounded like footsteps, and looked by to see Aslan walking past the girls' tent, making my eyebrows raise in confusion. A few moments pass, Lucy and Susan poke their heads out of their tent, and followed him. I caught up to them, making them turn to me.
"What are you two doing up so late?" I asked.
"Something's wrong, I can feel it," Lucy said. I looked down at her and then at Susan.
"I think he's hiding something," Susan said.
"Then we should follow him and find out."
We silently followed him through the woods, the crickets chirping and the wolves howling in the distance. We came to a clear opening in the woods and hid behind some trees, but Aslan has acute hearing, so he knew we werd following him.
"Shouldn't you three be in bed?" Aslan said in a quiet voice, a gloomy tone in his voice as well.
"We couldn't sleep," Lucy said, walking up to him, followed by me and Susan.
"Please, Aslan. Couldn't we come with you?" Susan asked.
"We want to make sure you're alright," I said.
Aslan seemed to hesitate before he finally spoke. "I would be glad of the company for a while," he said, "Thank you."
All three of us gently held onto his luscious tan mane, his ears twitched and he started to walk. Allowing us to follow him.
As the night led on, we seemed to be getting closer to somewhere. Aslan stopped in his tracks and we let go.
"It is time," he said. "From here," he looked ahead of himself. "I must go on alone."
"But Aslan-" Lucy was cut off.
"You have to trust me," he said, turning back at us. "For this must be done. Thank you, Susan. Thank you, Lucy. And thank you, Y/n," he started to walk away.
"And farewell."
The girls and I couldn't bare to let him go. My heart started to pound in my chest, and I started to follow him again.
"What are you doing?" Susan asked. I looked behind me and back at Aslans's trail.
"I can't even bare to let him go alone. He's hiding something. You both can go back if you want, I dont care. But, I'm going to find out where he's going," I said, my voice rising slightly. Lucy went over and grabbed my dress, looking up at me with sadness in her eyes. "He said, "Farewell." Which usually means he plans on never returning."
"Then we want to come with you," Lucy said. I nodded and looked up at Susan. She nodded and started to follow me.
I led the girls towards a different path Aslan was taking, and found some bushes to hide in. I knew what I was seeing, and the place gave me horrid memories from what had happened in the past.
The Stone Table...
It was surrounded by creatures who followed the Witch, holding torches and jeering as Aslan walks up the steps to the table. The Witch steps up onto the table, wearing a gray dress. She holds a stone knife in front of her. Aslan sees this and seems even sadder. He stops in front of the Table.
