Cadie earned his first ever Gym Badge by defeating Rustboro Gym Leader Roxanne in a close battle. Marshtomp again putting up a show. After the battle, Cadie rested for a day and trained his Pokemon.
And now...
Cadie was done training. He wanted to discover more Pokemon and win the badges. He couldn't stop looking at the badge. It was so shiny.
While walking, he saw a familiar man. The man was wearing a Green suit, a tie, and he was a redhead. It was the man he helped in Petalburg Woods. Cadie saved the man from a Team Magma member. The man was biting his nails. Cadie thought he needed help so he came to say hello.
"Hey mister! Remember me?" Cadie asked the man with a smile.
"Uh... Ye... yeah. How are you?" The man looked nervous because he was shaking, still biting his nails.
"Is everything okay?" Cadie sensed something. It has to be Team Magma again.
The man slowly pointed his finger towards Route 116. "There. He went there. Someone stole my goods."
But Cadie didn't see anything wrong. All he saw was trainers training. "Uh, there are trainers there, what is the problem?"
"Team..." The guy can't finish his sentence.
"Team Magma?" Cadie asked.
The guy shook his head. "No, Team Aqua."
Aqua. The word was new to Cadie. Heard it before he haven't. "Team Aqua?"
"Yes. Team Aqua, the enemy of Team Magma. I don't know why are they enemies but I heard that they are trying to control a Pokemon." The guy was calm.
"Control a Pokemon?" Maybe that was the news Cadie accidentally had known. One day, he was going to sleep when he noticed that there were noises inside the room of Cadie's mom. He listened.
Cadie's mom mentioned two Pokemon names. The first one sounded like "Crowd on" while the other one sounded like "Key ogre".
"Yes, control a Pokemon. A ground type and a water type. I don't know the names." The guy seemed to stop biting his nails but he was shaking.
And so, Cadie ended the conversation. The guy reminded Cadie the looks of an Aqua member. Based on what he heard, Team Aqua members are all dressed like a Sailor.
While running, Cadie encountered a Skitty. He was interested so he captured Skitty and nicknamed it Pink. Cadie now has 3 Pokemon, Swellow, Pink, and Marshtomp.
Cadie was now at the entrance of Rusturf Tunnel, the place where the guy saw the Aqua member entered.
It was foggy inside. All the rocks were yellow-ish. Kinda like Amber gemstones. The Pokemon Whismur infested the cave, Cadie managed to avoid most of it.
Cadie turned around the corner and saw someone dressed exactly like the guy described.
Team Aqua.
He was standing there with a Wingull by his side. The Wingull looked like it was lost. It was clear that he stole the Wingull.
The Team Aqua member, holding the bag which Cadie thought was the goods, started a battle.
"Poochyena, go!" Poochyena barked at Cadie. Cadie wasn't afraid.
A smile tugged at the end of Cadie's lip. "Taillow I choose you!" Flying out of the Pokeball, Taillow squawked.
The two Pokemon stared at each other with angriness.
"Taillow use Peck!"
Taillow flew towards Poochyena. Taillow flew so fast, Poochyena had no time to react,
"Poochyena, bite!"
Poochyena came running to Taillow, Taillow evaded the attack, barely hurt.
"Taillow, let's finish this. Gust!"
Taillow flapped its wings strong enough to create a mini tornado. Poochyena lost his balance, Poochyena fainted.
"Ok fine! Take the goods! But mark my words, Team Aqua will avenge me." The man threw the bag and it landed at the feet of Cadie.
Cadie looked at the trainer, eye-to-eye. "Bring it on."
The trainer was about to punch Cadie when Taillow pecked him. He ran away.
Cadie returned Taillow to the Pokeball. He picked up the goods, and walked his way out of the tunnel.
Cadie gave the goods to the guy. "Oh thankyouthankyouthankyou! Would you come with me?"
He nodded. Cadie followed the guy, the guy led Cadie to a huge building, the Devon Corp.
After a couple of steps, Cadie saw the boss.
"Stay here." The guy whispered to Cadie.
The guy told the boss what Cadie did. The boss seemed to like it.
"Hmm. Okay." The boss was stroking his beard. The boss stood, put his hands on Cadie's shoulders. "Thank you lad. Because of what you have done, I would like to reward you with this." The boss reached for his pocket and pulled something out. "This, this is the EXP Share. This is a crucial equipment if you want to train Pokemon."
Cadie glanced at the controller-shaped thing. He was happy. "Thank you sir." Cadie bowed.
"Um, I have a favor for you lad." The boss sat down.
"I would be happy to help you again sir."
The boss handed Cadie a white envelope. "My friend, Capt. Stern, is building a ferry. Give this letter to him. He is in Slateport City."
"Sure sir." Cadie told the boss, smiling.
Cadie liked this stuff. Cadie liked going on adventures.
"If you like, you could stay here for the day." The boss pointed at the bulletin board just beside him. A poster of the Devon Corp. building was pinned.
"Sure! Thanks!" Without saying goodbye, Cadie left the Boss' Office.
Cadie checked out his room. It wasn't big, it wasn't small. The bed was overloaded with cotton, making it ultra ultra super soft.
Cadie relaxed for a moment. His thoughts of being the greatest were kicking in. He put it aside and decided to take a break. Tomorrow, he will continue to embark his adventure.
