I still haven't moved.
My hands are still on her trying to stop the bleeding.
But she was gone.
Gone forever.
My vision was blurred from the constant river of tears.
I was alone in this world.
My happiness has been taken from me.
Sounds of crying waved over my ears yet I couldn't bring myself to go over to the babies and comfort them.
It was as if I was frozen.
She's gone.

Leo
I haven't heard from Alessandro since last night.
So I thought I would come and see him and Mia in the hospital today.
I managed to drive there quickly.
I was desperate to see the babies.
And Mia.

I finally pulled up in the car park and rushed inside.
I walked into the entrance and up to reception.
But suddenly I was filled with worry.
The receptionist was lying across her keyboard, dead.
Fuck.
I walked down the corridor and checked every single room.
Everybody was dead.
" FUCK" I shouted as I ran down the hallway checking every room.
I could hear the sounds of faint crying coming from down the hall.
I ran towards the sound of life
Until I pushed open door 22.
That when I saw him.
" Alessandro " I asked confused.
He didn't move.
He was slumped over Mia.
Blood was everywhere.
The babies where crying .
But first I needed to check Mia and Alessandro.
" Alessandro, are you okay?"
" Mia are you okay?" I asked as I ran towards the bed.
I walked over to Alessandro and crouched down next to him.
I felt his pulse.
I reached over to Mia to feel her pulse.
No pulse.
shit
" SHES DEAD" Alessandro screamed as he sat up a little but still kept his hands on her body.
That's when I could see it.
She'd been shot and he was trying to stop the bleeding.
Even though the blood was dried.
She'd died a while ago.
" no" I said as I stood in shock.
She was dead.
A tear rolled down my cheek.
Lately we'd become so close.
It was as if she was my sister.
Now she's gone.
Alessandro was whaling in pain.
" I COULDN'T PROTECT HER " he shouted as he still held his hands over the wound.
" It's not your fault " I told him as I patted his back.
I sunk to the floor.
I was weak too.
I needed to be strong for him.
For the babies.
But I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed by emotion.
She's gone.
And I didn't even get to say goodbye.

I managed to find the strength to walk over to the babies.
I looked down to see their two beautiful faces.
I picked up one of them first and held them against my chest.
They miss their mum.
I rocked backwards and forwards trying to get her to stop crying.
Finally she fell asleep in my arms.
I picked up the other baby, and did the same until she fell asleep.
They were perfect.
They looked exactly like her.
Exactly like their mum.
Now that the crying had stopped I walked over to Mia.
I put my head on her head and tears flowed down my cheek.
" I'm so sorry ." I told her
" I'll help Alessandro look after Hailey and Kayleigh" I told her.
I hoped she could hear me.
I wanted to reassure her that everything would be okay.
That Alessandro had help.
Someone to look out for him.
" goodbye Mia" I told her in a whisper as I kissed her forehead and I walked back over to Alessandro.

Saying goodbye is a hardest thing you can do to a loved one.
But it's not goodbye forever.
Only for now.

Just to clarify there will be a few more chapters yet.
I'm so sorry she's dead guys 🥺, it was my plan from the very start.

This is a really short chapter but I've left you guys in suspense of whether he's dreaming so I wanted to clarify quickly that she is really dead.
