It makes sense.

It totally makes sense.

Especially now that I spent almost three hours trying to make sense into the love-triangle situation that Matthew Parkinson may or may not be involved in. In the whole car ride to and from the grocery store, I was multitasking: jamming with Miles and thinking really hard if my theory can be possible.

Matthew is a billionaire philanthropist.

Kierra Wayne is the female version of him. She's practically a Saint. With her bright blonde hair, light blue eyes, freckled cheeks and a beautiful smile she's definitely a package.

They have the same passion, the heart of gold – no wonder he fell in love with her!

But it seems to me that Matthew never told her about his feelings. His friendship with Jason Boyd was at stake, of course. Maybe he didn't want things to change. If that's the case – oh, my gawwddd – the guy is a martyr. I can't really say for sure. I think I'm getting way ahead of myself here.

I shake the thought out my head and focused on getting the groceries to the kitchen. Andrei was waiting in the doorsteps when we made it home and helped us out with the groceries.

"Hi, gorgeous. I didn't know you're coming." I clambered out of the car and stood smiling.

Miles hurried towards him; arms extended for a hug.

Andrei made a little 'oomph' sound when Miles collided against his leg and threw his arms around his abdomen. "Hi, sweetie. I hope you don't mind me sleeping over tonight."

"I would really love that." I grinned.

He wags his eyebrows. "I would love this too. Come on, buddy. I made some apple pie." He lifted Miles off the ground and took him inside.

"Can I have at least three slices?" I called out, before walking behind the car to help out Matthew with the groceries.

"You don't need to. I got this." Matthew smiles boyishly.

"Are you kidding me? We're doing this." I stood next to him in front of the trunk and looked down to the bags of groceries. "Wow. We bought a lotttt."

He handed me the bulk of toilet papers. "I guess this is the parenting life."

I took the toilet papers, hugging them like a giant stuffed animal. "You just told a joke." I giggled.

He raised a brow. "Hey, I can be funny."

"Yeah?" It was my turn to raise a brow.

He gave me a dimpled smile and shrugged. "I have layers."

"Which layer am I at right now?" I tilted my head to one side, ignoring the pang in my chest that comes in whenever I think about his unfortunate love life.
