"oh, george, you've been to town once today already," king karl said, "you know you can't leave this much."

prince george of kinoko kingdom huffed at the statement. george flicked a piece of his fluffy hair away from his eye as he glared the king, his brother, down.

karl was crowned king first, despite george being older than karl. according to their now dead parents, karl was simply a better choice, more stable.

those words all that time ago had hurt george so deeply, he began to hold a deep hatred of karl. they used to be so close, but jealously had truly gotten the best of george, and it only grew when karl got to marry the man of his dreams, sapnap. that was all george wanted. to be loved, and to be free.

"says who?! who on earth is telling us that?" sneered george.

karl sighed, "me, george. sap and i-"

"i don't wanna here 'sap and i care about you' blah, blah, blah," shouted george. he took a step closer to karl, "i'm not your child! stop treating me like one!"

"it's my responsibility to keep you safe, george!" karl rose his voice a bit, "i can't just let you have fun all the time, that's not what royalty is all about."

george grew in frustration, "do you not understand how boring it is to sit in my room all day?! what am i meant to do, karl? sit around forever waiting?!"

"waiting for what?"

"someone who actually likes me!"

"of course i like you, george," karl said, "you're my brother, and sap-"

george hated sapnap.

"i don't give a shit if he likes me or not, karl!"

karls eyes narrowed, "don't use such language in the castle, george."

george laughed, taking a step back. he looked at the doors behind him before looking back up at karl who was sat upon his throne, "yeah? well, fuck you anyway."

karl didn't say anything as george dashed out the doors of the castle.

the town was a place george could feel at least a little happier.

the people were nice, although only about 10 people lived in the town. george wasn't allowed into the smaller villages beyond the kinoko town.

his favorite part of it all was wilbur soot.

wilbur was the tallest man he'd ever seen in his life, but a gentle guy. he loved music and writing, he was always doing something productive with his time. he inspired george a lot, but he knew he could never be as organized and put together as wilbur.

wilbur was his best friend. he was older, and had younger brothers he took care of.

he lived with his father, phil, his sister,
niki, and his two brothers, tommy and techno.

they were the only full family in the town, whoever else lived here were a mystery to george. he couldn't care less, he only cared about the family that welcomed him in as a normal man, not some fancy, pampered prince.

"wil!" george said, walking into the gate of the house, "wil!"

"hi, george," wilbur appeared from beside the stone house, "you're here late, how'd you manage that?"

"i told him two words," george winked, "and they weren't merry christmas."

wilbur chuckled, "brave, you are."

brave was something george always felt he was not, but everyone would say that he was. everyone being wilbur and the rest of the family, but that was just about everyone in his life.
