It took a while for Juno to get George up the stairs, and many puppy eyes. But they managed eventually. Now they were standing in front of another manky door with a 'NO ENTRY' sign, this one having a bar instead of a handle.

Juno was pacing in front of the door impatiently, waiting for the man to open it. Eventually, George sucked his breathe in, (regretting it after, it stank in there.) and opened the door.

The wind that hit him as soon as he did made him want to run back down the stupid creaky stairs but he stayed, with his eyes closed, as he followed Juno out onto the roof. As soon as his eyes opened though he was in awe, the sun was about to go down, leaving the sky in all sorts of pinks and oranges.

The city itself was stunning, the Empire State Building standing tall and all the small ones crowding around. It was beautiful simply put, and George couldn't take his eyes off of it.

He walked forward slowly, his past concern no longer bothering him. Juno trotted along beside him, watching as his face glowed with admiration. She watched every crinkle of his nose, every twinkle in his eye. She knew it was cliche, but in that moment George looked ethereal.

Eventually, George looked back at her. He started at her eyes for a second, "I can't see.. The sunset you know." he randomly began. Juno tilted her head in confusion. "The colour of it I mean, I'm colourblind you see. I can barely see the pinks or oranges."

Juno's eyes widened. He continued, "I may not be able to.. see all the colours of this sunset. But thank you for bringing me anyway. This is exactly what I needed."

Juno stared at him sympathetically and rubbed herself against him in what she hoped was comfort. It seemed to have worked, as he soon sunk into a sitting position to stroke the cat in front of him.

They sat in silence for a few minutes until George finally spoke up, "I told you I came here to escape right?" Juno looked up at him and resisted the urge to nod. "Well.. That wasn't exactly true." she stood up and curled against his thigh, the same she had been on the park bench.

"I came here to meet my friend originally.. But he had to cancel last minute. The flight had already been booked though, so I came anyway." Juno felt him tense up slightly as he stroked her fur, "truth is I wasn't in a very good place.. I've been getting a lot of hate online recently and I was looking forward to seeing him.. I guess it all became a bit too much, plus the fact my feelings for my friend are.. More than one should be for just a friend." George swallowed back his tears, "so thank you... Cat. You've really helped me."

They both stay there for a while, and he tells her all about his life. He rambles on about his friends, about how much he loved his fans, and about this game 'Minecraft.' he talks way into the night, until they're laying under the stars together.

Eventually he stops, and he fades into silence, the cat beside him is too caught up in her thoughts to notice. He looks down at her and smiles softly, in just a day this small animal had changed his life. He didn't know nor care what angel gave her to him, he was grateful, very, very grateful.

George eventually fell asleep, lying under the stars with a cat in the crook of his elbow. He felt more at peace than he had in a long time. Juno however, was not. She squirmed in his arms hesitantly, each soft snore he made making her want to cuddle up closer, or run to the edge of the building and jump off without a second thought.

Juno knew what romance was, she was a cat not stupid. but she never thought she would ever feel attraction, feel love.. but George? God George was perfect, the way his eyes shined when he was talking about something that he loved, or how his nose crinkled slightly when he laughed. She knew it was unfair, to be cuddled up to this man when he thought she was a simple cat. He had even stated before that he had feelings for another, a man at that.

Juno frowned and stared up into his eyes before deciding. She reluctantly wriggled out of his grasp and galloped away, not daring to turn back.
