Chapter 5 - Aquarius

I've been out of the hospital for a few days and I've finally been able to wrap my head around what's going on. I lost both my mom and grangran 2 weeks ago and I still have nightmares reminding me of that tragic day. My house was destroyed so I moved in with my childhood best friend Gabby and her family, so I'm greatfull. She told me a crazy story about the key I got from my father glowing, her being chased by floating rocks and something about a guy that she's in love with. It all just sounds like a crazy dream and I'm so clueless  to what to believe anymore.  The funeral is in a week and it's going to be a closed casket, the damages are too much and i seek not to traumatize anyone else with what I saw. My dad had a bank account that received monthly payments, the money there was enough to cover our living expenses and enough for me to go to the best schools in Ancient City. I don't really know what he does when he's traveling, but it seems to pay well considering the gifts he send us and the fact that my mom could've stayed home with no worries....

The alarm rang 8 and gabby knocked on the door to tell me "it's time to soon head out to school". We both lived within walking distance (20mins max) and normally met up halfway, but since it was my first day back her mom insisted on driving us. I had to replace everything I had in the house (except my phone, I didn't need to hear from certain persons....) and honestly I looked good if I must say so myself. I had a lot of school work to catch up on and projects due, it'll probably take 2 weeks for me to get all my grades together so I wasn't concern. Gabby was trying to have a conversation asking me if I like her nails and hair, but I was to spaced-out to pay attention (i simply smiled and nodded).

After a short drive to school, Gabby and I walked through the rusted front gates of our school with smiles on our faces (though she was mad I ignored her for most of the drive). When we got to the halls, there he was walking towards us. I looked at Gabby as simply darted away "good luck Zack" she muttered leaving me there.

"Hey Z, how are you, how have you been holding up? I've been trying to reach your phone for a while. I know we haven't been on good terms for some time, but I was really worried about you. I heard what happened and I'm so sorry for your lost" He said....

"Hey Jason, I'm well thanks for asking. It's been a tough experience but Gabby has been staying by my side. I lost my phone some time back and I really wasn't in the mindset of getting a new one.", I replied trying not to show emotions (can't let him win".

"What about us", he asked with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. So I responded  by saying "listen, go back to the friends you left me in the rain to entertain. It's been a long week thus far and I have school work to catch up with. See you around Jason, but the damage is done and it's the age of Aquarius."

I walked off with a straight face and a smile in my head. That took a load off my shoulders and allowed me to walk into the classroom with glee. As  I walked though the doors, everyone was already inside and "SURPRISE, WELCOME BACK ZACK!!". At that moment I wanted to walk back out, but Gabby pulled my inside (this bish).

"We wanted to welcome you back and show you how much we love and missed you" she said and I was stuck between run and party (I chose run, but she still was holding onto my arms).

As I looked around at my classmates, I saw many familiar faces and one new one. We celebrated for  few minutes and then the teacher called the class to order.

"Good morning class, before we get starter we have a new sub-transfer from The Sanctuary. Let's welcome him up and allow him to introduce himself", Ms Jackson announced. 

He started his trot to the front of the class, calm and unbothered with a look of mischief as his eyes circled the room. Gabby was on the side of me flushing and clamming up, her eyes lit with a twinkle.

He announced "Hello everyone, my name is Dennerrio but friends call me Denny...."
