The trio had separated after returning from Zawra'. Both Ghalib and Hudhaifah had duties to tend to, but they were close enough to call up should there be any need.
On a Friday night, Suhayl decided to go out for a stroll after dinner to digest the food.
The Baidha palace covered over a hundred acres of land. This is included the parliament building, several training grounds, the stables, several small lakes and of course, the Sultan's residence, which was located toward the east.
The residence was split into numerous courtyards separating out the kitchens, servants' quarters, and the prince and princess' manors. Sultan Ibrahim was very adamant on taking only what was necessary, though he still could not escape the opulence which the plagued the rulers for the past centuries. Almost every room in every manor was occupied.
Except one.
Suhayl was walking precisely towards that building, situated right at the edge of the Baidha palace, easternmost of the east. The princess' manor was just before it.
He peeked in slightly while walking past, he couldn't quite recall when his elder sister should be returning, but it should be before the full moon.
The gate to the abandoned courtyard opened easily. Despite not having a resident, the place was well-maintained and regularly cleaned. After all, it was the residence of the late Sultanah.
Suhayl felt his heart swell up slightly upon entering a foot. He didn't enter the building, rather went around it to the back. One of the several lakes within Baidha palace was located in the private garden of the Sultanah.
Suhayl had heard about how much the Sultan loved his wife, even go as far as to build a lake in her garden. He also heard how much the Sultanah loved her husband.
Only heard, though. Never experienced the warmth of this woman who always stayed at the edge of his peripheral during childhood, and even moreso, now.
