There was a comfortable silence in the room when morning finally came. The small lump hidden underneath the blankets began to shuffle. Two hands reached out from underneath to pull down the soft fabric. Harue squinted at the bright orange glow of morning that greeted him. He took a deep breathe in before rolling over away from the window. When he looked to his side he saw the small Endeavor plush sitting there. He lazily reach an arm forward to grab the plush and held it to his chest. His eyes remained half open as he tried to wake himself up a little.

It was odd that he had woken up first, normally Hawks would come in to wake him up every morning for breakfast. A small groan escaped from his closed lips as he stretched and pushed himself to sit up. He scooted his was out of the bed and reached cautiously down until his feet touched the floor. Harue swayed as he walked towards his bedroom door, holding the plushy by the arm next to him. When he made it out into the small hallway he looked down to where Hawks' room was to see the door was wide open. Is he awake? Why didn't he come get me?

He shuffled his way to the open door, the soft sound of socks against the carpet seeming louder in the quiet hall. As he made it to the door way he slowly poked his head into the room. The light in the room was on, but the older was sprawled on the bed. Laying on his back with his eyes closed. Harue was cautious when he began to enter the room. He tried his best to tip toe over the carpet with out hitting any squeaky floor boards underneath. The room consisted of a tall wooden dresser, a nightstand, and a large king-sized bed. The bed was placed in the middle of the room facing the door. There was a large window behind the headboard of the frame with red curtains held open with strings. Harue had made it to the foot of the bed when he finally hit an old board causing a high-pitched squeak. His shot his eyes up to the blonde to see if he had awoken. No movement. There was no reason to sneak around considering he was going to poke him until he woke up when he got to the side of the bed, but he felt he needed to. Harue dropped his head back down to follow his feet. As he walked to the left side of the bed. He had to step over Hawks' left wing which was hanging off the bed. After fully stepping over it he heard a quick twitch from behind him. Harue slowly turned back to see that Hawks' feathers were slightly ruffled up and he watched as the feathers settled once again. The younger turned back to continue his journey, but once he was facing forward again he was peering into golden eyes. Harue froze his little heart pounding in his chest. He stood there waiting for the older to speak first. But instead of words Hawks just threw him a questioning eyebrow.

Harue opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. "Trying to catch flies kid?" Hawks' voice was deep and raspy from sleep. He stretched his back with a crack before turning to face the scared boy. "Did I scare you?"

Harue rapidly nodded his head in response. Hawks' laugh filled the room. "Come here" Hawks stated with a hand gesture for the boy to come closer. Harue slightly hung his head as he approached Hawks only stopping when hawks' arm touched his back.

"What you doing sneaking around, bud? Trying to get the jump on me?" Hawks held a light smile on his face. Harue shook his head 'no' as he brought the stuffed animal to his chest. Harue placed his chin on the top of the plushie's head continuing his lack of eye contact.

All Harue heard was a deep breathe in from the older in front of him. The bed squeaked a little bit as Hawks began to stretch again with a loud groan. Before Harue could comprehend what was happening he was swiftly swept from the floor and onto the bed. Harue let a soft squeak out as he was rolled over to the other side of the bed in Hawks' arm.

"It's too early. Back to sleep." Hawks stated as he held the boy to his chest, resting his head on top of the other's.

"Noooooo, we have to get ready." Harue whined, squirming a little in the other's grasp.

"Nope."

"Yes."

"Uh-uh."

"Uh-huh." Hawks opened one of his eyes to look down at the boy. He quirked one of his eyebrows and stared tiredly into blue eyes. Harue mimicked his questioning look, earning a smile from the older.

"It's Sunday, Harue."

"Oh." And with that simple statement Harue adjusted himself in Hawks' arms holding the plushie to his chest. He closed his eyes and rested his head on the older's chest. Hawks just smiled humorously at the boy. Sunday was the only day he got off every week, unless he went somewhere with Hawks.

Hawks sent two feathers to grab the blanket off of the floor. They raised the red material over the both of them and slowly rested it down. Once Hawks was pleased with the placement he allowed himself to reclose his eyes and drift back to sleep.

...

When Harue woke up for the second time that morning he was rested on top of Hawks' chest. He hadn't remembered moving or being moved, not that he really minded. He felt a hand softly rubbing his back. His mind was foggy with sleep so he decided to just lay there with his eyes half open. His arms hung on either side of Hawks' chest.

"Good morning." Hawks whispered causing Harue to turn his head to look at him. Harue plopped his chin on the older's chest and blinked at him slowly. "You look exhausted, bud. You wanna go back to sleep?" He continued to whisper and stopped rubbing his back. Harue paused for a moment to think. He looked to either side of himself. When he couldn't find what he was looking for he brought his hands up to push himself up to look further.

Hawks groaned at the newly shifted weight. "What's up, bud?" Harue continued to ignore him and slid over to the edge of the bed. Hawks made a face of understanding as he realized what he was searching for. A single feather flew up to Harue holding the small Endeavor plushie. "Is this what you're looking for?" Harue nodded with his back still turned away from Hawks, taking the toy. Harue rolled back towards him and scooched his way back into his arms. His head laid on Hawks' upper arm as he examined the toy lazily.

"I'm glad you love it as much as I did." Hawks thought out loud not really looking for a response. "Well kid I think it's time we started our day. What do you think?" Harue just nodded his head.
