Catching A Train

They walked even more right through town, glancing at the destruction around them multiple times. The one thing that grabbed all of them was a lone trailer that looked lived in compared to the town. Even if someone was there already, it's only common sense to see if anything was there for them. (Y/N) even saw someone looking through one of the windows for a split second, but didn't say anything. The group walked up to the door, Sylvie and Loki taking the right and (Y/N) taking the left. The first thing Sylvie did was take out her weapon, which Loki tried to stop. "Brute force is no substitute for diplomacy and guile," He said to her. While they were talking, (Y/N) decided to take a look inside of the home, turns out there was a woman who was already ready for them. She, of course, ignored this and proceeded to kick down the door. As a result, she was blasted off of her feet by said woman.

"Sorry about that!" Loki said. "Don't be. I enjoyed it." (Y/N) was about to calm the tension, but she caught Loki getting a look through the window and getting an idea. She shook her head to him, but he tried to assure her that he knew what he was doing. We all know that he doesn't. Loki turned into an older man in what seemed like a dirty blue robe, and it only took a second to realize that he was trying to pose as her husband. (Y/N) sighed to herself and hid her face in her hands as he walked in front of her. "Hello dear," He acted sad. This was going to go terribly, that was simply common sense. In fact, he ended up the same as Sylvie being blasted to the same place as her after trying to trick this woman. She walked out a bit with the gun on her hip, looking over at (Y/N). She put up her hands, "My friends and I really don't mean any harm. At least I haven't tried to attack or trick you."

"We just want to ask you a question," Sylvie got up. "Where is everyone?" "The ark. The evacuation vessel." That would make sense that people would try and escape. Loki asked, "How do we get there?" "Train station's on the edge of town. You'll never get a ticket." With that, they went on their way. To make it a bit faster, (Y/N) decided to use her power to get there faster. After making a little platform for them to sit on, she dragged behind her while flying to the edge of town. Just seeing it from the air looked sad; the people wearing rags and big families were squished in a line and the more polished ones walked ahead with no problems. In the end it makes no difference, all ash looks the same.

(Y/N) soon landed so they could not draw too much attention to themselves. Loki joked, "This looks fun." "Come on now." "We can't fight our way through," He told Sylvie. He was right about that. "Who said anything about fighting?" "All your plans involve fighting." Basically her plan was to enchant a guard to lead them, and if anyone steps in the way then all guns are blazing at that point. "We're doing this one my way.." Loki demanded. He gently grabbed her shoulders to change his outfit to what the guards were wearing. Sylvie was absolutely not impressed, "You look like someone with a shit plan." This made (Y/N) chuckle a bit. Loki looked at her for support in some way, and she sighed. "You always love to play dress up, didn't you?" (Y/N) joked. Before he could say anything else, (Y/N) backed up a bit. She smiled, "Well, you all have fun getting through them. I'll meet you on the train." Her body turned into a black shadow flowing into a small shadow in between the line. The next minute, she was on the train just as simple as that. She had to wait for a few minutes, but when they finally walked into the train (Y/N) walked beside Sylvie. "Almost got caught?" "I told him it was a shit plan. Good thing I'm actually smart," She scoffed.

Finally there was a sitting area mixed with a bar of sorts. Lined across the walls were booths that were already taken by multiple friends and couples, the group found an empty one to sit in. Sylvie took the left side and Loki took the right while (Y/N) felt a bit...left out by the seats being limited to in the middle where she couldn't get to it. With a short sigh, she made her own seat. With a quick snap, she made a cloud of shadows she could easily sit on at the edge of the table. "FYI, that wasn't even a plan. Plans have multiple steps, dressing as a guard and getting on a train is just doing a thing," Sylvie said. (Y/N) shrugged, "You're on the train either way your phrase it, aren't you?" Silence fell upon them before Sylvie yawned.

"Oh, a bit tired?" Loki teased her. "Feel free to, you know, get some rest." "I can't sleep in a place like this" "You can't sleep on a train?" She rolled her eyes, "No. I can't sleep around untrustworthy people." (Y/N) acted being shocked by this, looking over at her. She gave a little smirk to her in response to make (Y/N) chuckle a bit. "But you feel free to take a nap. I'm not gonna waste my time rooting away for the Tempad when someone taught you fairly decent magic," She told Loki. There it was, that tingling feeling in the back of her head. Their words fading into silence as some past memories. The main one was being called Loki's dog on a leash, the one that seemed to stick the most to her. Everything started to play at once, and then that one thought that she stuck in the back of her head played.

"He will throw you away the second he gets it, because you don't matter to him."

"Champagne?" a woman walked up to the table. Loki and (Y/N) took a glass while Sylvie didn't take one, letting Loki take her glass. "Cheers. To the end of the world," He said while clinking both glasses together. (Y/N) raised her glass to him as he drank, slowly lowering it as he looked over at her. He made up for it by quickly clinking glasses with her. She gave him a warm smile and drank a bit. She tuned out even more after that, looking into her glass while that single thought replayed in her head millions of times. This time it was interrupted by a slight glance to the both of them smiling at each other, they were warming up to each other.
