Sorry about the sudden short chapter 4 and a cliffhanger.
Anyways
Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
I grunted as my head throbbed, I slowly opened my eyes to the sight of darkness, and a dimly lit room. "Lucas!" I hissed as my name chimed through my head. "Focus!" I looked over at Aaron, the side of his head bloodied, but he appears to be fine. "Where's the kids?" I gritted out "I don't know! They put us in a different room" he explained.
I struggled at my arms, but they were restrained tightly with rope to the armrest of this wooden chair, I huffed as I looked around. The vulgar smell, rot, and mold flirted around my nose. I didn't see much, just I and Aaron tied to chairs, in an ordinary dimly lit, but primarily dark room. One way in and one way out, my weapons nowhere in sight.
I hummed peeved, "how are we getting out?" Aaron asked, I stared at him "I was gonna wait till he killed us for us to get out! What do you think I've been doing?! Sitting pretty?!" I cried out in annoyance. I apologized soon after, clarifying to him I'm stressed.
Anyone would be, right? They are held captive with the three people they were protecting. Only to be knocked out and separated, and locked away. "Give me a minute to analyze and think," I say after a second of silence. I jerked at my leg, same results tied, I start to roughly tug at my arms, heeding the wood creak and wail under the stress.
With a few harder pulls and hissing of rope burn later, I was free and frantically untying both my and Aaron restraints. "Are you okay?" I asked him checking his wound.
It had stopped bleeding by the looks of it, he said he was fine. I could hear footsteps above us. "We must be in a basement," I whispered and realized how foolish I sounded for a marine. I looked around, even more, I found a pipe in the back of the room.
I rushed up to the only door, I gripped the doorknob and tried it, luckily or unlucky it was unlocked, and I slowly opened it. Immediately ready to hit anyone, this house or wherever we appear larger than I had guessed.
Unfortunately, I wished it was tinier than I wished it was, because if we don't find the two kids and get out. We will be found on the streets disfigured.
We snuck out of the room, past the doorframe, walking as silently as we can searching each room. Then we found them, tied up and gagged closer to what seems to be a staircase out from the basement. We made hast into untying them "he just left!" Ashlyn whisper yelled at us, "how long?" I asked, "a few minutes ago, saying he was checking on his wife!" I nodded and told them to stay between me and Aaron. Who picked up another form of weapon.
I wasn't no where near sure what will happen, but I do hope that we make it out of this place and get help. We crept up the staircase, I slowly opened the door. I saw him pass a few inches away from the door, unaware. "Honey, can you go get the kids from outside." Some lady's voice asked, I couldn't see her. But I saw him, he nodded and walked out the front door.
"Shit," I mumbled, I stepped forward and opened the door more. "Please stay right here," I said to them "what are you gonna do?" Aaron asked fearful and apprehensive. I gave a delicate smile, and spoke softly "bring light to this situation." His eyes widen, he was about to speak. I did the implausible thing, I hugged this guy, "I'll be fine!" I whispered in his ear.
