Jax
(Y/n) P.O.V.
Driving in a Tahoe for two straight days, only to stop for food, gas, napping at truck stops, and medicine intake, wasn't what I wanted for my daughter, Lilith, but getting her out of that house was more important. At one of the truck stops I was able to get my computer hooked to the internet, and found a little town called Charming. It has a great hospital for Lilith, a few shops I could work at for now, and I even found a cute house.I just drove past the diner when I heard a little sneeze behind me.
"We are almost there, sweetie." I cooed at her.
I pull in front of the house, and wait for the realtor. As I grab Lilith's car seat, sitting her on the trunk, a motorcycle turns into the house across the street followed by a black car. The sound seemed to catch her attention, because she lifted her head. When I picked her up she zoomed in on the bike, and squealed loudly, of course this caught the lady's attention. She smiled before walking over.
"Hello, I'm Gemma." She smiles. "You have such a gorgeous daughter."
"Thank you. I'm (y/n), and this is Lilith." I shake her hand as Lilith starts babbling, and pointing across the street. "She seems to be interested in motorcycles." I laugh.
"Well come with me." She starts walking, and I follow. "Does her father have a bike?" She asks.
"Not her father, but my uncle does." Lilith squeals, trying to grab the bike. "She only met him once, and apparently he left an impression." We laugh.
"Can I?" She holds her hands out.I pass Lilith over to her, and she lets Lilith sit on the bike seat. I started to worry, because I knew we were supposed to ask before touching someone's bike.
"Mom?!" I hear a yell, making me jump. "What are you doing?" I see a blonde guy walk toward us, throwing his cigarette away.
"I'm letting this little angel sit on your bike." She says confidently. "She couldn't stop yelling when she saw it." I smile at Lilith when she points to me.
"I'm Jax.'' He holds his hand out.
"I'm (y/n), and that's Lilith." I shake his hand.
"Ms. (Y/L/N)?!" We turn to see the realtor waves.
"Oh well we gotta get going. Come Lilith we have a house to look at. Um.. I guess I'll see you around." I smile as they nod.The realtor and I look around the house, he tells me it was inspected already, and everything was fixed, so all I had to do was sign. After he leaves I unload the car, give Lilith her medicine, and load her up to go get some furniture. The furniture store had a sale going on, and the manager gave me an employee discount. I bought a couch, a basic bed frame with a mattress, I got a coffee table, they had a cute circle dining table, a small tv, and I got some cheap lamps. I was so thankful for the lady for the discounts, and she even tried to sell me a toddler bed.
"She'll need it soon." I giggle.
"I'll come get it then, and pay full price." I told her.I had a date set for delivery, but I had a blow up mattress for now. I was only able to bring home a playpen for Lilith to sleep in. On the way home I hear a cough that didn't sound so good, I pull over, and I squeeze to the backseat. Grabbing her inhaler I puff air into her as she starts coughing, but this wasn't helping.
"Hang on baby." I rushed to my seat, and gunned it to St. Thomas.
As I run inside a nurse rushes to me taking Lilith, and another taking her information. I gave her the list I had pre-written for emergencies, and as she signed her in I was allowed to go back. After hooking her up to a ventilator, I was told she would have to stay hooked up for a couple hours. I sit next to her little bed, and just cry. I thought I was doing good, but apparently moving wasn't a good option. With a sigh I looked over to see a baby with a blue baby beanie that had a grim reaper on it, and the little sticker says his name is Abel Teller.
"Hi little guy." I softly say to him when he looks up at me.
Throughout the afternoon I helped feed both babies, and pretty much took care of them, to give the nurses some help. I'm too busy changing Lilith's diaper to hear the door open.
"Hey Darlin'." I hear behind me, making me gasp.
I turn to see Jax smirking at me as he walks to the little boy, who is blabbing away, and Jax picks him up.
"Hey tough guy." He kisses the boy's head.
"He's been talking all day." I say as I sit with a sigh.
"Are you a new nurse?" He asks while looking down at Abel.
"I should be, but no. Lilith has very bad asthma, and when we were on the way home from the furniture store she got a coughing fit." I fill him in as I pick up Lilith. He just looks us over, and Lilith looks back at him. She looks up at me then back to him, but then squeals at him.
"I'm glad someone is feeling better." He lays Abel down. "Thank you for looking after Abel. I want to be here everyday, but work takes over." I nod, as he stands.
I finally got a chance to look him over, and I noticed his kutte has the same reaper as Abel's beanie. It also has a VP patch on top of a Man of Mayhem, with a Redwood Originals patch on the front. As I'm looking him over Lilith holds her hands up to him, with a whine, and without a thought he picks her up. She lays her head on his shoulder, and I swear she looks more relaxed than she ever has. I can understand why, Jax just feels so comfortable to be around.
"I hope you got all the furniture you needed." He commented.
"I got the basics for now, but I'll buy as I go." I smile. "Can I ask who the sons are?" He looks at me for a moment.
"It's a motorcycle club my father built." He simply says.Over the next couple hours, Jax and I talked about a lot, but he got called away, and Lilith was released. When I pull up to the house I just sit for a second, to catch my breath, but someone knocks on the window. I jump up to Jax looking somewhat concerned, so I open the door.
"You okay?" He asks. "I was taking out the trash, and noticed you just sitting here."
"Just taking a breather." I giggle as I open the back. "It's been an eventful couple of days." I go to pull the pen out of the back, but Jax steps in front of me, taking it out.
"I got this, just get Lilith." He tells me. "When is your stuff being delivered?"I carefully grab Lilith out of her car seat, and walk in front of Jax.
"Sometime in the afternoon on Thursday." I reply as I open the door. "You can put that next to the bed." I point to the blow up mattress on the floor.
He set it up for me, and as I laid Lilith inside he went walking around. I suppose he was checking on everything. I lean against the living room door frame as I wait for him to come out of the kitchen. The way he walks toward me, even so basically as it is, is causing me to feel more tired than I am.
"Do you need anything, darlin'." He smiles down at me.
"I'm okay." I reluctantly say, because I, for some reason, want him to stay.
"Here's my cell number, and the garage number if you need me." He hands me a piece of paper that was an old take out menu. "I'll be here around one to help with furniture." He informs me.
"You don't have..." I start.
"You need to watch Lilith, and besides it gives me a reason to be here." He chuckles as he walks out.
