Opie 18+

(Y/n) pov
Living in a town named Charming wasn't always full of charm, but it is quiet. I've lived here for the last four years, as a teacher, and I've gotten close to a lot of students. I would allow anyone to come talk to me if they needed, and that's what Kenny and his sister Ellie Winston did one day. During lunch they came into my classroom, and just let go. At that time their dad just got out of jail, and their mom was stressing herself out. I was constantly trying to meet with either one of them, but never got the chance. Their mother died in such a bad way, and I wanted to be there for them.
This year I'm Ellie's teacher, and I notice how her and Kenny are very depressed about their mother. I try to get them to open up during our lunches, but neither would say anything. I decided I wasn't going to wait anymore, it's been a year, and no one has come to speak about the kids, so I guess it's time to go there myself.
Once at Teller-Morrow garage I park in the front, and walk into the office, where a woman sat, looking over papers. I clear my throat to get her attention. She looks up at me from the rims of her glasses, and smiles up at me.

"What can I do for you?" She asks.
"I'm looking for Mr. Winston. I need to discuss his children." I informed her.

She looks me over before walking into the garage, but she doesn't come back just a big man wiping his hands.

"I'm Opie Winston. What did the kids do?" He asks to get to the point.
"Well they haven't done anything, and that's the problem. Mr. Winston…"
"Opie." He corrects me as he sits in a chair.
"Opie the kids have been coming to my classroom during lunch for a year now, and I've noticed just how closed up they've gotten. I understand your family has gone through so much, but with children it's much more difficult to grieve." I say quickly.

We continue to talk about options for the kids to take, so they could open back up. I was very surprised at how hands-on he wanted to be with the kids. Other fathers don't even come close to the school. We were just to my car when we heard a loud tire squeal, and gunshots fly through the air. Opie grabs me by my hips, and covers me with his body and a car. I was curled up in a ball, my head on his chest, my hands gripping the bottom of his shirt, and I could feel my body was shaking like a leaf. He pulls back slowly, looking down at me, and that's when I realized he covers me completely. I couldn't let go of his shirt, granted I don't think he minded as he kept his hand on the bottom of my back.
The rest of the day Opie helped me relax. During the shoot out my car got a lot of damage, so Opie offered to drive me to work until I could afford another one. Over the next month I got closer to him and the kids, also I've noticed the kids opening up. Sometimes Opie would have to pick me up later than the kids, but on those days I learn who Opie actually is. I didn't know when I became so comfortable with him, but I'm glad I could relax with him.
One day I was getting my papers together for the week when someone started pounding on my door, and of course, like a dummy, I opened it. I really wish I would've just disappeared right there, however life doesn't work that way. My ex, Ben, was standing at my door with a box, and his stupid grin on his face. He doesn't even say anything to me, he just walks right in like it was his place, and starts putting things in the box. It took me five minutes to figure out he was only touching his stuff, but I knew he wasn't going to stay quiet long. After he had boxed up most of his stuff he stops in front of the coffee table, where I'm working, and just scuffs at me. I just continued to work, knowing it was pissing him off.

"So you're into bikers now?" He says with a sparky attitude. "I've heard from around town you've been to the Sons club a lot." He continues.
"If I am, it's none of your business." I neutrally say.
"Still acting like a bitch I see. Well if I knew you were a biker slut I would've saved my time on you. I think it's funny how you think people will actually care about you." He laughs.
