Fatima's P. O. V
9 months later
I screamed in the hospital as i am about to deliver my baby, i said Abbas if i pop my child we would never do this again he kept apologizing his apology is annoying me what are you apologizing for you are to be by my side what of my mother have you called her have you called Mitty also is she on her way Abbas have you called zahra she said she want to know everything i continued.
He ask me to keep quiet and focus on delivering the child safely forgive us for not telling you everything that happened during pregnancy but right now my major concern is delivering the baby i can feel that Abbas is tensed and nervous at the same time we both agreed that Mitty will come for Omugwo.
She was to arrive in two days time but my child came earlier than expected a week before my delivery date after few hours i gave birth to a beautiful set of twins a boy and a girl i was surprised because we were expecting a baby and now they are two i gave birth to them 45minutes apart which i never expected but am thankful for.
Habibi was strong staying with me all through the birth process he kept thanking me for the new gift of life the nurses took the babies for cleaning they brought them back Abbas call the Adhan to their ears, gave them dates we got home to meet Mitty at home on the naming ceremony day our house is full of guest lots of gifts coming in, our phones were flaring with calls from everyone to congratulate us the girls couldn't make it due to Nafisa wedding they are preparing for it.
I couldnt go but i made sure she receive her present, zahra couldn't make it to all , the girls sent a lot of gifts to the twins Amrah and Khalifa came with Salma, we name our children Yasir and Yasmine i was outside greeting guest when a guest asked for Abbas i got in to meet Abbas holding the babies i look at him with the way he was holding them he wasnt ready to leave them he walks towards me i held Yasmeen she whimpers i shush her by breastfeeding her, there and then Yasir started crying Abbas takes Yasmine to give me Yasir i breastfeed him and rock him to sleep.
They both fell asleep i told Abbas a guest is asking of him he excused himself, Mitty smiled this is a happy family Masha Allah Fatima i can't thank you enough for what you have done to my son positively for this amazing twins Alhamdulillah, thank you for being such a supportive and understanding wife she said, i hugged her, cried a little because i can't believe the woman i have grown to be and my mom couldn't make it i was really tired of today's event from the makeup to greetings to my body exhaustion.
I was about to retire for the day when Abbas came in asking me not to sleep yet he ask i take my hijab i wore my hijab thinking he want to introduce me to another guest but he ask we head to his car, he drives out of the compound i ask where we were heading to he said worry not babe we would be there in no time we got to a building i was puzzled Abbas ask we proceed inside we got inside and Abbas said Fatima how do you like this place it was beautiful indeed i like the settings it's not a house but rather an office the setting has a formal and informal way to describe it he gave me a box and ask me to open it which i did it was a key tied with ribbon with some papers i said am confuse.
He said Fatima this building we are in is your catering service business and in the box is the key alongside papers which states that you are the legal owner of the building i hugged him i couldn't believe am the owner of this place, Abbas am grateful but how come no one knows about this.
I want you to see it and approve of it then we can announce it together he said i sighed Abbas i can't thank you enough he said am the one who should be thanking you for your patience kindness and most importantly the new gift of life our amazing twins i nod and hugged him again he said we should return before Mitty starts getting worried we got home, i slept a happy woman.
6 months later Mitty returned home and Abbas got me two helps who would assist in taking care of the baby and house chores, the setting of my office with everything is set to open when my babies clock a year old so every year i celebrate their birthday and my business it's going to be stressful but inspiring to work, a day before the opening i made a delicious meal with a cake for dinner as part of my appreciation to Habibi he got back from work to see the table setting he ask what the occasion was i smiled and said nothing it’s just appreciation for everything and most especially tomorrow he wants to say something.
I put my hands on his lips saying he should eat before it gets cold he ask we both eat, i asked one of our help to clear the table Habibi appreciates my effort and the meal we both retired to bed with the twins who were fast asleep long before i was done cooking the next morning i invite my friends and family in Bauchi alongside my customers both old and new to my new office named Fabs confectionery.
Its a combination of both my name with Abbas name, Habibi drove me and the kids to the place, am really proud of the turn up i hug him and said thank you for everything he smiled kissed my forehead saying i love you Fatima i love the way you make me look at you so that i can't see any other woman i love your sense of humour i love your competency your neediness i cut him off i am not needy babe it wasn't easy to think when we were this close.
He continued i have never met a woman who needs more than you do Fatima you need he kiss the end of my nose "love" he kiss my cheek "kindness" he gave me another kiss in my face "attention" and finally he lightly kiss me on the lip before saying a family which we would build together i look at him cup his cheeks and said now we are a happy family, he ask we proceed inside, we kept exchanging pleasantries with everyone and receiving compliments from customers a lone of tears escape my eyes which i never realised until Habibi used his hands to clean it he said i hope these are tears of joy i nod sometimes the tears shed for a loved one are not only for the moment but also for the words unsaid and the memories to come.
