Striker and I drove up to the lake, where picnic-goers and nature enthusiasts were backlit by the glow of the hellfire lapping at the lake's edge. Leaning back in the seat, I watched the scenery pass by. There was just something about taking a leisurely drive around the lake to help put one's problems on the back burner momentarily.
Parking on the far end of the lake where we could watch the night creep over the lake, Striker turned the truck's engine off and leaned back in his seat. He glanced at me, amused, "Come here, darlin'. No use in you being over there."
I laughed, sliding across the bench seat so that he could put an arm around me. As soon as we were settled with the sunset in front of us like a moving painting, Striker kissed me long and slow. Maybe it was the scenery around us, but this kiss held a desire that made my toes curl.
Leaning into the kiss, I felt his hands slide over the curves of my body. His touch drew a low moan of pleasure from me that vibrated against our lips. Before I knew what was happening, we were sprawled across the bench seat, Striker on top as he kissed his way along my cheek and down my neck.
Fingers knotting in his hair, I let myself enjoy the touch of his lips on my skin. Words nearly escaped me as I managed to gasp, "Did you bring protection?"
Striker nipped me softly on the neck, where I sure I would find a love mark later, and replied huskily, "Of course, darlin'. A man's always got to be prepared."
