Gotham Knight Guards

Chapter 11

        Cookie looks out the window of the wagon she is captured in, seeing how disgusting the Parasites are. They peraded around like if they were all kings and queens, destroying things for fun, partying around, and showing off the jewelry and gold they been stealing around. She catches eye of what was the beautiful, joyful castle she once lived in, was now a dreadful sight full of trash and dispare.

        Entering the main room, Cookie sees an unusually larger Parasite with blue streaks on his body and golden streaks on his head, sitting on Lord Sam's throne. "Well, well, well, look what we have here. A toon from the Resistances, at last!" He says excited as he swirls around her. "Make things easy on you child and tell me WHERE ARE THE REST OF THE TOONS!" Cookie isn't intimidated one bit, she just spits straight at his face. Everyone inside gasp as the leader is inraged. "How dare you," he screams as he slaps her, "I'm a creature far more superior than you." He gives her another slap. "You and your kind are nothing more than worthless excuses of space on this planet." "Then why are you freaks even here!" Cookie screamed. "This planet is our home, you had no right to come here and take it away! Who do you Parasites think you are, coming here and destroying our home!" she received a punch. "We can take over whatever planet we desire. We are the ultimate source of life!" He prideful claimed as he gives her another hit. "Now, where are your Resistance team hiding!"

After an hour of beating and integration, Cookie never gives a word away. "Your fortitude is to be admired, especially for someone your age." He said as he gives her a final blow in the groin. "Take her to the prison, I'll try again later." Cookie, barley able to stand is dragged away, into the prison where other toons are being held. "Get comfortable kid," a guard said as he throws her in the cell. "You'll be here until you talk or sell ya!" He walks away with his partner laughing sinisterly. Cookie sits down and looks at the other toons. "You all ok?" she asked with concerns. "You should have just talk kid." One toon said. "What?!" Cookie was taken back for his remark. "Sooner or later they find all toons," "and sell us all away into slavery." "We've lived like this for 8 years," "Face it Kiddo, there's no hope left."

Cookie's eyes fill up with tears. She feels so heartbroken, alone, and helpless. She spend 8 years living underground, training day by day to get stronger and faster. Risked her life spying on the Parasites, looking for any weakness to defeat them. Sacrifice her time to get supplies to make her fellow toons life a bit better. Go through sleepless days and nights coming up with new ideas for weapons and fighting tactics. Fight against the Parasites by her family and her closest friend side to free other toons. "This can't be the end." she whimpers to herself. She breaths heavily and starts to sing softly to herself.

"My heart is pure and true, that one day I will find, my eternal flame in love, under the starry night.

I wish upon a star, that one day you will come, and give me eternal love, under the starry night.

No matter how long it takes, I will forever wait, for my eternal flame in love, under the starry night.

As long the stars keep shining, under the darkest cloud...."

She looks up at the small window and manages to catch a small glimpse of one little spark of a star. Every night, she did all it took to take one glance of the stars. With just one look, she felt recharged, and ready to keep on fighting for her toons. Those stars always burn bright under the clouds without giving up, why should she allow herself to give up on her planet. She stands up, "Do stars disappear under a cloudy night?" she asked outloud. "What?" some toons asked. "Do stars disappear under a cloudy night?" she repeats louder and with greater determination. "No." "No." "Of course not." She turns around with to look at them with great rage replacing the tears in her eyes. "As long as the stars keep shining bright under the darkest cloud, I will never give up hope."

When Cookie looks back up to the sky, she notices a small, bright blue light she has never seen before. It appears to get closer and closer, when a sudden blue streak flys across the sky and into the cell. Everytoon is baffled when they see a blue ring, shining bright, floating in front of Cookie. She hears a voice echoing from the ring, "You have been found worthy to bestow the power of the Blue Lantern Ring."

"In fearful day, in raging night, with strong hearts full, our souls ignite.

Cookie starts to follow along as if the oath was being burn into her heart.

When all seems lost in the war of light, look to the stars, for hope burns bright!"

Cookie is surrounded by blue flames that turns her resistance outfit into her Blue Lantern outfit. All the toons are stunned as Cookie herself is still processing what just happened. "Hey what's going on in there?" Two Parasites enter and notice Cookie's new wardrobe. "Hey give me that ring!" Ready to fight, one lunges towards her, she has a rapid hand to hand combat, when she finally blasted them into the wall knocking them unconcious. She smiles and uses the ring to create a huge hole in the storage where the weapons were being held.

"Everytoon, grab a weapon," she says as she makes another hole to freedom. "We are all escaping today."
The toons look at each other smiling and nodded with the light of hope returning into their eyes.
