Chapter 7
*2 years later, back to November 1st with Emilie and Sky. *
Emilie shifted in her seat, raising her hand to stop Sky from continuing the story.
" Yes " Sky asked
" Sorry to interrupt but I just can't help but wonder.." Emilie said
" Yes " Sky asked motioning her to continue
" Why was Gabrielle looking for her father, did she ever tell you?" Emilie asked
" She never told me but she didn't need to. When she turned 12, her father left her and left a note saying that she wouldn't be seeing him anymore, that it would be safer for her that way. I looked for him in the places she had thought she'd find him, but he was never there. She continued his search for him for another 3 years..." Sky answered
Emilie's face expression changed to sadness as she put herself in Gabrielle's shoes. " If she never told you, then how do you know this? " Emilie asked
" She didn't tell me bluntly but that doesn't mean she didn't tell me nothing at all. There are different ways to speak..." Sky answered, taking a deep breath, he continued.
" Anyways- " Sky started but before he could finish Emilie cut him off again saying " Why are you here? I mean, you could be anywhere you want instead of telling me this or being at this expedition?"
Sky smiled as he said " I purposely lost a bet against Nicole. "
Emilie laughed thinking why can't you just admit you lost?
" Our parents wanted at least one of us to go to the expedition, but neither of us wanted too. So we made a bet, then I changed my mind and lost it on purpose." Sky said
" Couldn't you just tell her you changed your mind and wanted to go? Why would you purposely lose a bet?" Emilie asked
" Emilie, Nicole has NEVER won a bet against me, I was feeling nice. " he answered
Nice excuse, Emilie laughed to herself before saying " You can't purposely lose a bet like that.."
" I guess you have to be me to do it." Sky answered with a shrug and his usual smirk making Emilie roll her eyes. " Anyways, can I get back to the story?" Sky asked
" Yeah. " Emilie answered
" No more interruptions!" Sky exclaimed
" No guarantees. " Emilie said with a smirk of her own and just like that, Sky went back to recounting the story.
