~Percy~

I knew I'd slipped up when the redheaded woman- Bruce said her name was Natasha- almost choked and froze where she was.

"Who's trying to kill you?" She whispered. Well crap. She looked like she actully cared. That only made this worse.

I looked down at my hands, then away. Anywhere but at her. As if I could tell her that there were literal monsters that threaten my life every waking moment of every waking day, and even when I'm asleep that doesn't mean I'm safe.

I couldn't tell her that because I'm a demigod, there's never not someone trying to kill me.

Feeling self-conscious and a little cold, I pulled my hoodie back over my head. I felt a little more comfortable with the blue AHS Swim Team hoodie hiding my face from the world. The thing itself had gotten a little small over the last year since I'd been gone, but it's hood was still deep enough for me to practically do the turtle thingy in it.

"Percy," Natasha's insistant voice made me flinch slightly, though I tried to cover it up by shifting in my seat, still not looking at her. I knew I couldn't answer her, but she wouldn't be able to understand why. And she wouldn't understand if I did answer anyways.

"Who's trying to kill you?" She repeated. I shook my head, looking down again.

"I can't answer that."

"Why not?"

"You wouldn't understand."

"I doubt that," She scoffed, but her voice was gentle. I felt her eyes still on me. Luckilly, I was saved from answering by a dude dressed like a pirate barging into the room.

"Where is Perseus Jackson?" The man asked, walking straight up to Bruce and seemingly not noticing me. It was understandable, I was sitting on his blind side.

I coughed for attention, raisinf my hand awkwardly like I was in class. Three pairs of eyes turned to face me. Or two and a half, technically, since Pirate had the eyepatch thing going for him.

"That would be me, and I'm right here."

The pirate whirled on Bruce. "Why is he sitting around here and not in an interrogation room?"

"Sir," I began, finding myself raising my hand again as I spoke. "We were waiting for the team to wake up, since I hit some of them pretty hard on accident. Though it looks like they're waking up now, so you can ask away, pirate man. Though I made a deal with Bruce that I didn't have to answer every question.

"But first... who are all of you? You dont fight like the other guys who came for me."

The arrow and flag guys had woken up. The dude in the suit still looked out cold.

Bruce ki dly gave me introductions. At the pirate's name I tensed again and my hand moved to my pocket as I eyed him warily.

"Fury?" I asked. I knew that the furies could shape shift into humans- was Pirate one of the old hags?

"Is that a problem, Mr. Jackson?" Fury asked me defensively. After looking him over quizzically, I decided that no, this was not one of the furies.

"No," I replied, realizing they were waiting for a response. I leaned back in the chair, my knee beginning to bounce.

Now the suit guy, Tony, was awake. that was all of them.

"Alright, ask away." I told them, settling a little more in the chair.

Bruce walked forward first, pulling a chair up to face me and grabbing a clipboard.

"Alright, I'm just gonna ask a few medical questions. You ready?"
