The Unexpected

It's okay.

"Jasmine this is crazy it has been what... three day since you've said a word to me. Just let me explain honey" My mom spoke soothingly getting up from the couch walking towards me in the kitchen.

She's right, I haven't spoke to her seen she told me that Hunter was my bother. She has been trying to explain but I haven't given her the chance to, because what's there to explain?

'Don't you think we're being a little unreasonable Jasmine? We're the only one giving her a hard time even Hunter looks like he's warming up to her.'

Okay.

'Well that was easy.'

Shut up before I change my mind...wait can I even say that to myself?... whatever.

I sighed as I turned around to see my mother now seated at the kitchen counter.

"I already explained to Hunter why I had to...do what I did, and he forgave me."

"Hardly." Hunter added appearing from no where opening the refrgister.

"Yo- you forgave her" I asked in disbelief.

I mean after all he had sold me about his past: of him on the streets, him having to steel...he just forgave her that easyly?

"After all she had done to you?" I turned to him and watched as he empties the bottle of water he was downing.

"Well, yes. According to what she told me, I should be grateful she didn't kill me...of you know what I mean" he said smirking. How could he be joke right now?

I stared at him still in disbelief. "Sh-she gave you away" I mumbled pointing behind me.

"To faster care in hopes he'll find a good family" mom spoke up standing from her seat. "Don't make it's seems like I'm the bed guy Jasmi-"

I cut her off. "But you are aren't you mother? I mean who else could be the 'bad guy' in this scenario? Hmm? You were the one who gave up a child when you where more than capable of take care of it!"

" It's ok Jas-"

I stopped him too " no it's not Hunter, she had grandma and pops who could have helped her...she just-

"That's enough Jasmine!" My mom shouted sounding really upset. " You know... nothing, about what happened! You haven't even given me the chance to explain myself. Your 'grandmother' was a part of the reason why I couldn't keep him, you think their perfect don't you? But you know nothing Jasmine! And it's unfair of you to try and get Hunter on your side when you don't even know mine!" She shouted angrily as I felt tears running down my cheeks I stood there shooked because that was the first time she ever raised her voice at me. "And I'm not happy with what I did either Jasmine, but I had to." She added and calmly walks up to me and places her hands on my cheeks wiping my tear as I lean into her touch.

"I sorry" I said feeling dranded like I've been crying for days then she rapped her arms around me in a warm hug as I cryed.

"Shhh shhh it's okay honey. It's okay." She wispered softly rubbing my back.

We stood there for about 5 minutes, with me cry and her soothing my sobs.
