What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.
Spencer wasn't particularly social. The only person he talked to regularly was Damien. He didn't live in the dorms like literally every other person at Saint Augustine's, so he wasn't involved in a lot of things. He kept to himself, really.
Until.
Emma to "the mighty chondrias" [2:17]
Hey guys, come to my dorm today after school around six!! My roommates home for the weekend — we'll hang out and I'll grab a pizza :)) Room 405
Emma was in AP Biology with him and Damien. He knew her well enough. The class wasn't exactly big — there were only about fifteen students, eight of them in the group chat.
He was planning on just ignoring the message. However, almost just as soon as he muted the group chat, Damien was texting him.
Damien [2:19]
hey ur coming to emma's tonight
Damien [2:19]
u don't get a choice — we're having fun
He supposed maybe it wouldn't be too awful.
Spence [2:21]
Yeah, ok, whatever.
Damien [2:22]
don't whine abt it lol, itll be a good time
Spencer didn't get why they couldn't have fun on their own. He and Damien could have plenty of fun. They had plenty of fun.
When Spencer got there — a few minutes after six — everybody else was already there. At least they were all still wearing their uniforms. Spencer didn't bother to change out of his, but he didn't want to be the only one.
"Hey, Spencer," Emma grinned from her spot in the circle on the floor, waving him to the empty spot next to another one of his classmates. Marissa. Also nice, also someone who he vaguely knew.
"You're the last one who's coming," Emma explained, handing Spencer the pizza box, "Mark and Mary are home for the weekend."
Mark and Mary. The creepy identical twins that did everything together. They gave him the creeps.
Yeah, Spencer wasn't too bummed they were missing.
"You're late, Mr. Morris," Damien grinned from across the circle.
"Oh, shut up Yates," Spencer grumbled, taking a bite of pizza.
"That's gotta be a new record," Gabriel laughed, looking at his watch, "One minute and they're already at each other's throats."
"Hey, Spencer's the one coming for me," Damien feigned innocence, "I'm just trying to eat my dinner, and he's being aggressive."
Spencer knew Damien was just screwing with him — so he bit his tongue and refrained from arguing.
"So what's up tonight?" Leah asked, getting up to throw her plate into the trash, "Did you call us over for a reason or just to hang?"
"Well," Emma grinned, reaching underneath her bed for something, and pulling out a bottle, "It's Friday, I thought we could have some fun."
Spencer wasn't sure what kind, but it was definitely booze. It wasn't hard to get around Saint Augustine's, despite how very against the rules it was.
