A typical drive down the road on the way to their family home, and Johnny and Adam are chatting up a storm. It was the usual, talking about random stuff that come to mind or both of them singing along to the overly enthusiastic pop songs that blare on the radio of Adam's car. However, Adam had a feeling that something was a little off about his younger sibling.
He couldn't quite place his finger on it, nor did he feel like it was a good idea to bring it up. After all, Johnny wasn't very open about his problems. It was a rareity for him to come to Adam with a genuine problem of his, and if it ever did happen, it was never because the older had instigated the conversation.

Either way, Something was definitely up with the brunette, and Adam was not enjoying the feeling of being concerned over it. His little hunch only grew larger when he parked into their driveway, hearing the other quieten down, watching from the corner of his eye as Johnny's left hand tensed up into a fist. It was a mannerism he knew his sibling did when worried about something.
Pulling up the handbrake, Adam turned off the car engine to then turn to the other occupant of his vehicle.
"Hey...is everything-?"

"Look...I've got something I need to tell you"

Adam was surprised to have been cut off, but he wasn't going to slander the other for it. Whatever this was, it was obviously serious, his demeanor completely different from his usual playful self. Johnny's body was tense, sweaty, his leg vibrating up and down in a nervous motion, face slightly screwed up as he nervously nibbled on his bottom lip. The last time the raven haired boy had seen the brunette like this was well before college. This was definitely serious, and he could tell that whatever it was, it was definitely eating his sibling up.

"Oh, yeah of course, you- you can tell me anything" Adam stumbled over his words nervously, not necessarily prepared for a serious conversation, but willing to have one nonetheless.

A nervous chuckle from Johnny filled the tense atmosphere of the tight space, if only for just a second. "Yeah, its, uh...its pretty important, actually" A stressed strain in his voice caused him to clear his throat in embarrassment.
"Yeah, i-i-it's just that...I mean, I kind of...found someone? And...they make me really happy. And, I-I've, I mean, I like...have kinda known this for a really long time but I've, uh, only just really come to terms with it. But, I-I'm...I'm gay." Alot of blabbling and he finally forced himself to come out with it. Adam was definitely not expecting that to be his news, and to be honest it was a little...startling.

It took him a while to collect his thoughts and respond, but he was glad he had thought of something to say, otherwise Johnny looked like he could burst out into tears at any second. "S-So,uh, you found yourself a boyfriend?"

"Uh, no, actually. They prefer the term partner. Or lover. They are, uh, non-binary"

"You mean that thing where they don't see themselves as a guy or a girl?" "Exactly. Biologically, they were born male. and we both started off as that. Boyfriend and Boyfriend. But, They said that they don't see themselves as any gender, and...and I've, uh, been supporting them through their discovery"

"Well, i mean...you're still Pissface to me, and you always will be. But, as for mum and dad? I'm not so sure" Adam hoped that didn't come off as rude, but he had to atleast warn him.
"Yeah, and I know. Thats...why I came to you with it first. I'm...really not sure when, but...I'll tell them eventually."

"I think thats a good idea, Johnny."

Adam was relieved to see how much calmer his brother looked. "Well, lets go in before they both think we've died and get this dinner over with?" Adam suggested.

"Great"
