CHAPTER FIVE:
HUNTED•°• ✾ •°•
When Delta got home, she knew that she couldn't tell her parents what really happened in the library. But when they asked her how her day was, she had to tell them something. So, she simply told them it was alright and that the studying session went alright as well. She couldn't exactly tell them that a kid she was studying with got stabbed in the hand with a pen by another kid. And with other townsfolk turning against them, she wasn't sure if it included them as well. She always hid that part of her away from them but what if they found out?
She spent most of the night tossing and turning and staring at the ceiling. The thought of going back to school the next day made her stomach churn. She wondered if Eliza even heard about what happened. Delta has a lot more questions for Eliza and Devina. Did they know about the more terrifying side of Beacon Hills? Mason was dating someone with rapid healing abilities so Devina had to have known something. Where did Liam and Sam play in all of this? Were they human or were they different like Corey?
When she got to school, she tried to take a deep breath but no amount of controlled breathing could prepare her for the overwhelming fear that was radiating from inside the building. She counted to three and pulled the door open and went inside. It was as if everyone knew she had just walked in and all heads turned to look at her. She was frozen in her spot as everyone stared at her and it felt like every student at Beacon Hills High was there.
"Delta!" the voice pulled the brunette out of her thoughts and she turned around.
Eliza and Devina ran up to her and pulled her away from the scrutinizing stares and into the closest girls bathroom. Once they made sure it was just the three of them, Devina crossed their arms as they leaned against the sink.
"This might be way worse than I thought," she said and Delta looked at her.
"Did Mason tell you what happened in the library last night?" she asked and Devina nodded.
"He also mentioned you had something to show us," Eliza said.
Delta nervously bit her lip as she waved her hand and pink mist danced between her fingers. Devina raised their eyebrows as they stood up straight and watched in awe.
"That is pretty awesome," they said but Eliza wasn't all that amused.
"You never told me you were a witch," she said with her arms crossed and Delta shook her head.
"I'm not a witch. I don't know what this is. And second, this isn't something you can just talk about to anyone," she replied.
