As much as you wanted to stay for just a bit longer in the United States, you had to go back home to Potorosso in Italy. America was such a fun place, everything your grandparents showed you was amazing. Everytime you saw something fascinating your eyes would have stars in them as though you were in an anime.
But now you were finally back home unpacking your bags which didn't take too long. After you finished that little task, you excited your room and sat down on the living room couch, sitting besides your parents.
"So how was America?" Your mother asked, awaiting your answer. You were practically beaming and bouncing up and down in your seat at her question like an excited child. Even though you were 17. "It was amazing Mamá! We took a trip a New York and saw all these amazing things!" You exclaimed.
"That's nice sweetheart." Your father said before clearing his throat. "You've been in your room all day, why not go outside and get some fresh air?" He suggested, your excitement died down after a while as you blinked at him. Of course, you didn't go to school since you were a sea monster because your parents were highly protective of you. So what else were you gonna do?
"And do what exactly?" You asked, tilting your head to the
side. "Meet new friends?" Mother said. You sighed, not really fond of her idea. "But Mom, I'd rather swim in the ocean or something." You say with a disappointed groan."Y/n, you know what happens when you swim in the water. You'll reveal your sea monster form and end up being killed by those land monsters." Dad stated as you roll your eyes at him. "Fine, I'll go meet new friends." You sigh, knowing well that he was right.
But maybe, they aren't as bad as they say they are. So with that, you get up from your seat and headed out the door, saying goodbye to your mother and father on the way out.
Then you began to walk along the stone ground making your way over the fountain. Which was not that far away from your house. You sat down against the edge as you gaze off to the ocean. The town was a bit crowed by humans and you weren't feeling very social today so you just sat there.
"The ocean is beautiful isn't it?" An unfamiliar voice said next to you, making you turn your head to your right. There, you saw a boy with curly brown hair, green eyes, and tan skin with freckles. "Yeah," You agreed.
"Have you ever been in it?" The boy asked with a smile across his face. "U-Uh, n-no I haven't.." You answer as you bite down on your lip nervously. God, why did you always have to be so socially awkward around people? "Have you been in the ocean?" You suddenly ask, quirking up an eyebrow. "Yeah, plenty of times." He smiled confidently as he crossed his arms.
"I'm Y/n L/n, by the way." You introduced yourself as you held out your hand for him to shake. "Alberto Scorfano." He said, then he grabbed your hand and gave it a firm shake. "So what's the ocean like?" You asked suddenly, with excitement showing on your face. He only stared at you, looking you up and down as he bit his lip.
You tilted your head to the side as your eyebrow furrowed. He let go of your hand and looked away for a moment, rubbing the back of his neck. "Well, it's quite big. Why?" He answered. "I was just wondering." You shrugged slightly.
The two of you spent the whole time talking about different topics. It wasn't until you guys realized how late it was getting out. "Oh, uh, I should probably go home now." You said awkwardly as you stood up from the fountain.
"Alright then, guess I'll, uh, see you tomorrow?" Alberto asked as also stood up from the fountain himself. "Definitely." You nodded. "Alright, bye." He said as he waved you off slightly. "Bye." You waved back with a small smile. With that, you turned around and made your way back home slowly, but surely.
You couldn't wait for what tomorrow will bring you.
