(Y/n's POV)
"I'm home Mamá!" I called out as I kicked my shoes off by the front door. "Good, good, come sit at the dining table, dinners almost ready!" She calls back. I then swiftly place my shoes neatly on the shoe rack before walking into the kitchen, greeting my father on the way there.

"Hi, Mom." I greeted, she turns around from the dish she's cooking and gave me a warm smile. "Did you make any new friends?" She asked, making me cringe slightly at the question. Of course she'd ask that. "I guess...?" My voice trailed off, shrugging my shoulders with a sheepish smile.

"I mean, I just met him." I said as I took my seat down at the kitchen table, my father was sitting next to me. He looked up from the newspaper that he was ready curiously. "He?" He questioned suspiciously. "Mhm!" I hummed, nodding slightly in response. "And who is this 'he'?" He inquired once more. I let out an awkward laugh in response. "Alberto Scorfano...?" I answered, uncertain if I remembered his name quickly. Yeah, I'm not the best at remembering names.

My eyes nervously averted to the wall. "He's a human..." At least I think he was, I'm a sea monster that transforms into a human when out of water so how was I supposed to know the difference? "Just make sure not to get wet in front of him." She reminded. I nodded lightly in acknowledgment.

"Alright, alright, got it." I mumbled quietly as I picked up my fork and dug into my food. Though I couldn't help but roll my eyes at my mother's reminder. How many times had I told her that I would be careful not to get myself soaked? She only ever seems concerned for me or my safety or something like that. She was always so strict and protective.

I mean, I understood why she was like that. She's trying to prevent me from being harpooned by some sailor or that I could scare in the future. But still! Why does she have to go above and beyond to care about me all the time? I mean I love her, of course I do, but sometimes she's too much.

"Y/n you alright? You're staring at the wall again." Dad spoke up, breaking me from my train of thoughts. I nod my head in confirmation and resumed eating my dinner. "Yeah, sorry. Guess I zoned out, Papà." I say sheepishly, earning a laugh from him.

After a while of eating, I finished my plate of spaghetti. "May I be excused from the table, Mamà?" I asked, placing my now empty plate into the sink, waiting for her answer. "Sure, sweetheart." Was all she said. I thanked her and walked over to my room, closing the door behind me.

it was getting late and I wasn't even ready for bed yet. So grabbed some clothes and put them on, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, and getting changed into pyjamas. I crawled into bed, turning off the lights the covers over me. The bed was comfortable and warm. I let out a sigh as I closed my eyes drifting off into a deep sleep.

I shifted in bed as I felt the warm sunlight of the rising sun kiss my soft skin. Then I heard the sound of my alarm clock going off which startled me. My eyes fluttered open as I gazed at my alarm clock in annoyance. With a groan With a groan of frustration I pressed the button that turned the annoying sound off.

Sure I didn't have to go to school because of the fact that I'm a sea monster. But still hearing that loud beeping noise every morning still annoyed the living hell out of me. I rolled over to lay on my side, still not wanting to get out of bed. I mean, I was pretty comfortable. And getting up this early at 6am would be a real pain.

Yes, I'll admit, I'm a bit stubborn. My dad always said that I got my stubbornness from my mother. And I can completely see why. She's the type of person that doesn't seem to let go of things in a pointless argument. Though I'm not if that's just because she's strict of not.

Either way, I still love her. Even though she's a bit crazy. Suddenly, a knock on the door snapped me out of my thoughts. "Y/n, are you awake sweetie?" Mom asked as she slightly opened the door and peered inside. "Yes Mom, I'm up." I mumbled as I rolled my eyes.

"Alright, I'm just making sure. Breakfast will be ready in about an hour." My mother says, shutting the door once more, leaving me alone. With a huff, I pushed the sheets off from underneath me and got out of bed heading towards my closet, opening it to reveal my usual outfit. Which consisted in a simple button up shirt and a pair of shorts.

I grabbed the clothes and headed to the bathroom to take a bath. I prefer to take baths rather than showers because I find it rather easier to clean myself when submerged under the water. I just don't feel like tripping over my tail you know?

I placed my clean clothes down on the counter before stripping off my pajamas and throwing them in the washer. Then I turned on the faucet of the tub and plugged the drainer. Once it was full enough I stepped in, feeling myself shape-shift into my sea monster form as I sat down.

I let out an exasperated sigh as I laid back, letting the warmth run over my scales. I stared at the ceiling as I allowed the water wash over me. I could feel my tail hang itself over the edge of the tub, and no, it wasn't a mermaids tail, it had rounded fins on one side of it and at the end there was no fins at all.

It was kinda hard to describe. But I don't mind being a sea monster. I just wish that Mom would allow me too go into the ocean. After awhile of being in the tub, unplugged the drain and stepped out. As soon as I got out, I grabbed my towel, changing back into my human form as I dried myself off.

Then I grabbed my clothes and slipped them on before brushing my hair and brushing my teeth. After doing my morning routine, I headed down to the kitchen were breakfast was being served.
Once I entered the room, the smell of pancakes filled my nose, making my stomach growl. I sat down at the table and saw that mom was already there. As soon as I sat down she passed me a stack of pancakes with syrup and butter on top, with a glass of orange juice beside it.

"Morning Mamà!" I cheerfully greeted as I began to eat the pancakes. I looked over to where Dad usually sat down and noticed that his seat was empty. "Where's Papà at?" I asked my mom as I continued to eat. "He had to attend work early today. He won't be home till later tonight." She sighed, taking a bite of her own food. I gave a sympathetic frown, then finished my breakfast.

Even though I was done eating, I decided to stay seated at the dining table. I bit down on my lip and looked at her. "So uh, I was wondering if I could hang out with Alberto today again?" I stammered softly as I stared down at my empty plate. "I'm sorry, who?" She questioned with a raised eyebrow. "Alberto. He's my new friend that I told you about last night during dinner." I clarified, looking up at her hoping to receive her approval.

She smiled warmly at me and nod her head. "Of course, dear. If that is what you want." She answered, making me smile brightly. "Thanks Mom! Thanks!" I exclaimed excitedly. I stood up and ran upstairs to my room to grab my stuff. I packed what I needed for the day. I then grabbed my wallet just and case and placed it in my bag. I slipped on my shoes and head back downstairs to see my mom doing the dishes.

"Don't you think about leaving without taking care of your dishes, young lady." Mom scolded gently as she pointed to the empty plate and cup I left where I sat. I smiled sheepishly at her. "Sorry." I muttered, grabbing the dishes and placing them in the sink. "Go on ahead, Y/n. Don't worry about the dishes, I'll take care of them." She said reassuringly with a smile on her face.

"Thanks, Mom." I replied gratefully as I give her a hug goodbye. "Be careful out there." She reminded as I let go and headed towards the door. I nodded. "I'll be careful. Bye, Mom." I said as I left, closing the door behind me.

Once I stepped inside, I took in a deep breath before exhaling it out. I felt like I was going to have a ton of fun today. And I couldn't wait.
