Dani kicked the floor board, the poor wood already punished enough from years of wear creaked in what seemed like a complaint. “ Sorry,” she grumbled to the inanimate object as her little friend Charlie whirled behind her ear. “ Dani, It seems that you are bothered by your brother’s requests. Why would that be?” Dani huffed as she stormed through the hallway, entered into the front garden and slunk out the servants gate towards the city. She needed to clear her head. “ Because we’re just fine without Jack getting a stupid wife, there is no need for it.”
Charlie, not one to emote remarked,  “ Dani it is your duty as mortals, and as a species to settle down and have children. I understand that the specific trademark of humanity is to find true love, so much so that vast collections of books dedicate themselves to purely that purpose. There is evidence of many quantities of medical records that prove that having a spouse is healthy and beneficial for social, emotional, physical and even spiritual state of being.” Dani snickered as she slowed to a good steady walk stretching her arms once more then clasped them behind her. “ For a robot you sure are prone to talk about spiritual things. Don’t you find that odd?” Charlie chirped then shook his head, “ No, I find it rather intriguing despite the argument of whether robots...can or can’t have spirits and if they can, are they benevolent. The debate on such things are as old as your family’s company, you know. Also, you’ve created me with similar interests Miss Danielle.” She scoffed and pushed her friend playfully, the little mechanical bird hovered around the attempt, “ Oh don’t you start that yet I have a full day until I need to get to that point.” She scolded, sounding as a mother would.
“ Alright, Dani. Where are we off to today?” The bird chirped nestling onto her shoulder and taking a rest, its golden lensed eyes scanning the view.
She sighed looking around, they had taken a few residential roads that were  laced with cobblestone and outfitted with curling tall lamps that kept it aglow all hours of the night. However, it was around noon when she arrived on the bustling scene of downtown Rowanne. The view of the tower could be had any way one looked from any of the streets. Unlike the georgian character of buildings to small wooden Victorian and charming brick homes it was the exact antithesis of anything Rowanne. The Township prided itself in a renaissance of architecture and beauty, making sure that each one was unique, sculpted and stunning like a dress or suit to be worn. Even the shoppes took after this style and reflected in the resident’s fashion. However, the Tower that loomed over the inhabitants of Rowanne was anything but. It was a tall rectangle that stretched into the sky seemingly past the clouds, and looked to be completely made out of glass or mirror, reflecting sunlight and the stars at the appropriate times. The odd architecture sat straight in the middle, hence it being an omnipresent building.
This township itself was lucky. The mayor surrendered, leaving this small city to the hands of the Tower and the mysterious creatures that dwell inside. They were humanoid for the most part, at least that’s what the rumors say. But there have been newspapers of unsightly and ghastly sounds coming from it. Anyone who goes in doesn’t come out, unless of course they came from there. Dani swallowed, taking in the view of the tower and how blinding the reflected light was. She wondered why of all things they would choose that, what reminder or purpose did it serve to have a skyscraper… like such? Thankfully due to the surrender of the Mayor the town and it’s people are intact and were for the most part able to preserve their culture and business of doing things. “ I guess what they say is true, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” she murmured, Charlie tittered in agreement.
She watched as people milled about, weaving between some of the crowd. A handful surprised that after she was close up was indeed a young woman instead of a young man. “ Charlie, how about we see Zacharias today? See if he has any information we can pick up shall we?”
Charlie, in simple agreeance hooted. From there they took off.
It was a quick jog to Zacharias’s shop, once they arrived she was excited to go inside and see his new home crafted wares.
