Teaming Up

Upon waking, I notice the glass has been cleaned off the floor. I hang my legs over the edge of the berth and place my wheels on the ground. I stand and prepare for the argument with Unicron, strange, it's like he's not in my head. I hear shouting and a few blasts from the hallway. I exit my room and look down both ends of the hall, I spot flashes of blue light on my left, I head towards them to see Knockout shooting at Starscream, for Knockout to be using a gun, this must be serious. Starscream runs out to the flight deck, Knockout and I follow suit.

"What's happening?"
"Unicron has gained control of Screamer again"
"For Primus sake, really"
"He tried to get to Megatron"
"You're using your blasters, didn't think you had any, just saws"
"I do, just rarely use them"

As we enter the flight deck, Starscream, more correctly Unicron has off lined two vehicons before jumping off and flying away. I dash to the edge of the deck and jump, getting enough air before transforming and following Unicron. I fly up alongside them, trying to use my wing to tip them into a dive, still getting used to flying I manage to tip us both into the dive, Starscream and Unicron falling faster due to their fighting. I cut my engines and drop, catching up with the two I transform and grab Starscream, using my jets to slow our fall. Screamer never told me this was possible, flying without transforming.

"Will you two stop fighting and fly, this aint easy for me"
"Oh but it is child"
"Shut it old man, put Screamer on"
"Fine"
"Y/n?"
"How are you managing that"
"I don't know, but get your aft flying or something"

Starscream, or Unicron start to fly. But little too late, we hit the ground. Tumbling down the hill until we stop, I land on top of Screamer, awkwardly, I jump off him and point my blaster at him.

"You Starscream or Unicron?"
"What was that for Y/n"
"Did you see Knockout using his blasters?"
"A funny sight, uncoordinated with them"
"I didn't think he had any, just saws"
"Is this Unicron's way of making us work with him?"
"Most likely, the old unicorn will have to fight us though"
"Think you can help me up"
"Oh, sure"

I change my blaster back to my servo and hold it out for Starscream, he grabs it and I pull him up. Ready for the beginning children?

"Bug off old man"
"So he's still connected to us"
"Dark energon or not, yes"
"New alt-mode?"
"You like it?"
"I did tell you flying is better"
"Can't disagree with you there"

I pull the dark energon shard out of my subspace and show it to Starscream.

"I thought it got destroyed"
"Well before Unicron ruined my chance in getting more, I hid this in my subspace"
"I had two of them"
"The other must've been destroyed, I was holding it at the time Unicron took over"
"So Knockout confiscated it"
"Yep"
"Think you can halve it"
"I can try"

I hold the shard in both servos, gripping the ends and bending it, eventually from the strain it snaps in half. I hand one piece to Starscream.

"Are we really going to do this?"
"Betray both bots and cons, fight some old unicorn who calls himself Unicron"
"Do the other know?"
"Not if we don't tell them"
"Are you two done talking, it's time"
"1...2...3"

We open our spark chambers and watch as our shards of dark energon dissolve into our sparks. The connection to Unicron becoming stronger. I close my spark chamber and groan in pain, the dark energon flowing through my systems, fighting to be the dominant energon. Starscream just stands there, staring off in the distance. I wave my servo in front of him, making him jump slightly once his attention is back to earth.

"Would you believe me where we have to go?"
"I don't want to, but I know I have to"
"To the core"
"A journey to the center of the earth, wonderful"
"Let's hope none of us lose our memories like Prime did"
"He lost his memories?"
"The last time Unicron surfaced, but not like this"
"Shall we go?"
"Let's go"

We head of in the direction Unicron gave us, eventually tiring of walking we decide to rest for an hour. Unicron invading our personal space again, telling us to get a move on.

Listen here unicorn, we shall rest until we're satisfied.
I do not care; the night is drawing near.
Good, we can fly then.
Flying at night isn't easy Y/n.
Tell that to the old man.
Stop fighting.
We are fighting you, not each other.
Wait, why are you in my head Screamer?
Your head, this is my head.
Your minds are connected.
Eww, gross.

I stand up from leaning against the tree I found comfortable. Looking towards the horizon, the sun is setting, the night sky becoming scattered with stars. I look back to Starscream, he stands and walks to the edge of the cliff, I stand beside him preparing to jump and fly.

"Hey Starscream"
"Yes"
"Whatever happens, remember this"
"What"
"Were strong alone, but stronger together"
"I believe you're right on that one"
"I know I am"

We both jump off the cliff, I don't bother transforming and just fly using my thrusters, flying like this seems easier. Until Screamer tries to do better than me at loop-d-loops, I transform and whizz past him, as silent as the night, I do loops around him as he flies, we both end up laughing. I stop doing my loops as I become dizzy, we fix our flight path and fly in an almost silence, save for the unicorn in my head.
