Chapter-1

                              15 Years Later...
                          December 3rd,2018

*Woof! Woof!*
"Shut up Xylo" I said sleepily.
*Woof! Woof!*
Ugh! This damn dog.
"Xylo, I swear to god! If you bark one more time!"
*Woof*
"Okay,Okay. I'm up now,so you can shut up" I said tiredly as I slowly rose from my comfy bed that was my best friend as well as my enemy.
"Thanks Xylo, you know I love you right?" I said, showering him with kisses. Xylo is my live alarm clock,he always wakes me up before time because he knows that I'm a drama queen and will take atleast ten minutes to actually wake up. What can you say I'm a heavy sleeper.

I sat on my bed for a few minutes to start my brain. It was raining heavily today,as if the sky was in a bad mood. The traffic was going to be like hell today.
I took a glance at my alarm clock and "Shit!!"
I sprinted from my bed and headed straight towards the bathroom. I was going to be so late. I brushed my teeth and took a quick shower. I didn't bother to eat breakfast, which was my favourite part of the day, and left my house in a hurry.

As I predicted, the traffic was terrible and it had been almost 20 minutes since the cars even went an inch forward.
People were going crazy and were honking non-stop, even when they knew that it's technically not the fault of the car in front of them.
A car exactly behind me kept honking like a psychopath and was getting on my nerves.

*Honk*
*Honk*
*Honk*
*Honk*

That last honk really pissed me off and that was it,  I lowered my car window, popped my head out to look who was driving the car. It was a BMW which looked way too expensive and behind the wheel was a women who was clearly as pissed off as I was but she still kept honking.
"If you don't stop honking right the hell now! I'm going to back my car up and I'm going to damage the shit out of your car!"I yelled so loudly that the cars beside me stopped honking.
I slid my head back into my car as the woman shouted a few cuss words which I completely ignored.
After 10 minutes the cars finally started moving and I took the shortest cut to the office.

*Ring! Ring! Ring*

I looked at the screen and saw my best friends name pop up.
"Hello Leslie, how are you this fine morning?" I said mockingly
"First of all, the morning is not fine at all and second, where the hell are you?!?You overslept again didn't you? Ofcourse Its Monday today."she shouted that nearly made my eardrums shattered. I lowered the volume and said "You know me so well but the traffic is disastrous today and you know Ryan doesn't care what time I get in" I said casually.
"Well, he is freaking out today because his best performer didn't show up on the most important day of our company" she freaked out.
I was going to the depths of my mind to remember what was so important today that my boss was freaking out so much?
Leslie sensed my silence and said "You don't remember what today is right?" she said in an exasperated voice.
"Kind off?" I said sheepishly
"From today our new CEO is joining and will be meeting the head and best performers of each department and if you didn't understand already you are the best performer of the Digital Marketing Team."
"Yep that's me" I said proudly
"Myra! You need to be here or Ryan  is going to have an heart attack" she said worriedly
"Okay Okay, I'll be there in 10"
I hung up the call.

Ryan was the head of the Digital Marketing Team and Leslie worked in Human Resources. We three became best friends since the day I joined Obsidian Finance.
Nobody knows much about the New CEO, just that he is a man and the youngest CEO of the Company.

I reached the office just in time and Ryan was already waiting for me and just when I was just beginning to say something, he said "Don't talk just run"
and he dragged me to the auditorium.

The auditorium was designed in blue and purple colours with bouquets and ribbons. The air smelled of waffles and bagels. My mouth started watering. We were standing at the end if the giant room. Ryan was jumping up and down to see the face of the new CEO.I tried to slip away from Ryan to get to the amazing buffet but he wouldn't let me out of his sight. I whispered him, " I'm hungry", he said "You can eat later,now will you stop eating my brain." I rolled my eyes.

The crowd parted their ways for the CEO, as they began shaking his hands and gave him their wishes.
Ryan straightened him and me up to meet the CEO, I let out a small chuckle.
As I went a little forward to see the CEO's face, I went still and my eyes went wide.
His eyes met mine but he wasn't shocked,he smiled and went past me.
I saw the name on the stage 'Mr.Cass Harrison.'

My heart shattered when I read that name and it brought back the painful and heart wrenching memories that I hated.I closed my fist so hard that I feared my blood supply would cut off but it was the only way to control my burning anger.I met his eyes as he gave his speech, I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me shatter.As soon as Ryan was out of sight to greet rest of the employees, I ran towards washroom and looked for signs of people but no one was there. I splashed water on my face,trying to forget that day, trying to get my mind back into my control and steadying my heart not because of the day it all ended but the moments,good moments that made me fell for him.
I looked myself in the mirror and noticed that my cheeks had gotten as red as a tomato and looked like I was pushed into a pool of blush.
But I knew this day would come, I was skeptical at first but in my mind I was sure.Almost too sure,as I was the one who killed him...
