Chapter One: The Beginning

Once upon a time in the middle of a zombie apocalypse, I was surviving quite well, anyways let me tell you what happened. it was 2016, the Ebola Virus was mutating, no one saw it coming, but no one expected what it would mutate into and turn everyone infected, dead or alive, into flesh eating, ravaging monsters. now before the zombie apocalypse, the Ebola Virus just killed people, made them bleed from the infected's eyes and now it brings the dead to life and makes people eat other people, very well done Ebola!

But yeah, when i turned 20 in 2016, I was at my girlfriend's, Dayna's, house for a week in England, then I took her to my home in Atlanta, Georgia. oh yeah my girlfriend lives in Essex, England, Loughton Area, nothing wrong with a long-distance relationship, anyone who tried to say anything negative about it, i used to go in full rage mode. Anyway well as we got into my neighbourhood, it was deserted, no one was around, it was so silent! I walked into my house, to find my mom sitting on the bottom of the stairs, crying in her hands and as I walked up to her, i could see blood on her Jeans and hands

"Mom whats wrong"? I asked as I almost started to cry,

"Your father and Thomas... went fishing and when they came back..... and they were oh..my god" she was trembling visciously, heavy breathing, I knelt down by her and held her hands, she looked up with masacara running down her face mixing with her foundation, she stared straight into my pupils and she whispered "They attacked me"

"What"!? I responded

"They were bleeding from their eyes.. and their mouths and... oooh... they tried to bite me" she explained with a frieghtened tone in her voice

"Zombies" i realised "Babe, just go lock the front door for me" I ordered Dayna as she stood there frozen,

"sure" Dayna replied then she walked away and shut the door and then locked it, I turned to my mom,

"Where are they now Mom"? I asked her, she pointed up the stairs, as i looked behind her, i saw the blood marks on the stairs travelling upwards, I snapped my fingers, "Dayna, come with me"

"okay" Dayna said as she finished looking outside, Dayna and I slowly walked up each stair, i could smell their corpses, cautiously looking round each corner, I followed the blood smears to the master bedroom, I slowly approached the closed white door, with the blood sprayed on it, I reached for the handle, i looked back at Dayna, she put her hand on my shoulder, i quickly opened the door and the smell was unbearable!

"Shit" I looked closely at their bodies, lifeless, covered in blood, eyes and face filled with their blood, but as i approached my brother's body i could see flesh in his teeth and fresh blood in his mouth "Oh no, Mom"

"What about her babe"? Dayna asked me

"Theres fresh flesh and blood in my brother's mouth" I sniffed up, trying not to break down in tears

"So your mum's been bitten"? Dayna looked into my eyes

"Yeah she has" I sighed and broke eye contact with Dayna

"I am really sorry Jack, but i dont think we have much time" Dayna says as she holds my hand and lays her head on my shoulder

"I know" I said mellowly, i looked up at the open door, empty hallway and stairs, then i heard footsteps slowly walking up the stairs, I whispered to Dayna "Get behind me"

"What"? Dayna asked as she looked at my mom walking up the stairs with her back to us, Dayna slowly got behind me, i saw a knife by the body of my father, i sighed and picked the blood stained kitchen knife up, i held it in my hand as my mom reached the top of the stairs

"Mom"! i shouted, she turned around and started walking towards me, growling, she got closer, "I'm sorry" i said

"Do it babe" Dayna said in my ear, the my mom turned towards Dayna, i swiftly stuck the knife in my mom's right temple, i let go of the knife my mom dropped to the ground like a sack of spuds. i started to cry and hugged Dayna.
