he hasn't slept since. he's just laying in george's bed, hugging george's pillow to give him some false sense of security. he can't stop thinking, he can't stop thinking about it; thinking about it makes him dizzy but he can't stop. he can't stop. tears start streaming down his face, he can't stop it. he can't stop crying.
"hey dream, i'm coming in." george says as he opens his bedroom door, dream just lays there, tears streaming down his face, staring blankly at the ceiling. "hey... you okay?" george says as he closes the door gently behind him, dream frowns and sobs slightly, he can't control it. "hey hey woah it's okay dream" george says as he walks up to his friend, dream puts his arms in the air and looks at george with pleading eyes, george understands what he's asking from him and lays on top of him, hugging him as he sobs softly into george's shoulder, george says nothing, he lets his friend let it all out. "you're okay." george whispers to dream.
dream chokes on his sob and laughs it off "god i'm so pathetic." he says as he bury's his head into george's shoulder, pain and hurt tangled in his voice, "who said that." george says as he flips them both to their sides, still holding dream close; "i did." dream whispers, tears falling onto george's black hoodie, "i don't think that." george says trying to make dream feel better, it does. dream wipes his tears onto george's shoulder, his hoodie is now drenched in dreams tears, "sorry. i got your hoodie wet with my sad juice" dream jokes, laughing as he presses his forehead into george's chest, george holds him tighter, "that's okay, you've done a lot for me these past couple of days, it's the least i can do." george says laughing with dream. "do you... want to talk about it?" george offers, dream looks up from george's chest and sighs, "not yet. can we stay here for a while." he asks, tears still slipping out of his eyes. "only because you asked." george says with a lighthearted smile, playing with dream's hair once more.
he wants to stay like this forever dream thinks to himself, he puts his head back into george's chest.
"whats your favorite snack." george asks suddenly, "you." dream says, muffled by george's embrace, laughing at his dumb joke; george taps dream's head lightly, "idiot." he chuckles; "i like popcorn." dream finally replies in a mumble.
"when's the last time you've ran through a park?" george asks to distract dream from whatever was bothering him, "i can't remember." dream says trying to recall the last time he let himself be a kid. "we should do it one day." george smiles to himself, closing his eyes and humming a random tune. "yeah. i'd like that.." dream says, sleep holding his eyes hostage.
"you're my favorite memory." george whispers to dream who's snoring softly into his chest, "you're the sun on my skin after a cold night." he says, quiet enough to make sure dream doesn't hear him. "you're a blue flower in a field full of red ones." he continues, knowing that he'll never get the opportunity to tell him this face to face again.
dream mumbles in his sleep, george laughs softly to himself and plays with dream's hair some more.
maybe one day he can plant stars in dream's eyes.
