Maya POV
Today is a special day for me since my mom is coming back from a mission. I can't wait to see her again, it was a two years mission after all and I missed her lots. Right now I'm waiting for uncle's Tony call. I ask him to call when they arrived to the Avengers HQ so I could get there with aunt Wanda. She was the one in charge of me since she was the most responsible one and also I loved her so much, she has become like a mother figure for me. My thoughts we're interrupted by a knock on my door. "Come in" aunt Wanda open the door "Hey sunshine, ready to see them" My eyes widen "Did they arrived?" she nods with a smile in her face "Come on let's go see your mother we both missed her" I put my jacket on and walk outside to the car. Since I feel asleep on the way, the ride went fast and quickly I feel aunt Wanda shaking me slightly to wake me up "Wake up sweetie we're here" my eyes open slightly and I look around me, when I noticed where I was I sit up quite fast, thing that I shouldn't have done because instantly I felt a little bit dizzy "You're ok bubs?" I nod at her "Yeah just felt a little bit dizzy because how fast I sit up, but we can go inside now I'm good" We go inside and uncle Tony and uncle Clint we're in the living room but not sight of mom. I look up at aunt Wanda and I think she read my thoughts because she instantly squeeze my hand "She is probably sleeping baby" I nodded "Actually Wanda can you come here I need to talk to you about something" uncle Tony said to aunt Wanda. She caressed my cheek and give me a kiss on the head "I'll be right back honey" then uncle Clint clear his throat and kneel down to my level. I'm 15 but still small. "Hey sweetheart I need to tell you something. And you need to listen ok" I nod at him but started to get worried. "Ok first of all I need you to promise me that you are going to stay calm ok" I chuckled nervously "Uncle Clint you're scaring me. What's wrong, did something happen to mom?" He sighed and took a deep breath. It that moment I knew something bad happened with my mom "Uncle Clint what happened to mom? I want to know. Please" "Honey she got hit really hard in the head causing her to...um" "Causing her what? Tell me" I was getting impatient and also I was scared, not a good match "Causing her a temporary memory loss sweetheart" I look up at the door and aunt Wanda and uncle Tony came back inside. Aunt Wanda made her way to me but I back away shaking my head no. "Please tell me you are joking and it's all a lie" "Honey I wish, but it's real. Come here babygirl" aunt Wanda open her arms and I hesitate but still run to her arms and hug her like my life depended on it. I started to hysterically cry in her shoulder, she rub my back trying to calm me down but nothing work. She ended up using her powers to make me sleep. And after a couple of minutes everything went black. I fall asleep.
Wanda POV
After the news of her mother losing her memory, Maya cried into my shoulder non stop. I couldn't see her like this so I use my powers to make her sleepy and after a couple of minutes she did. I went upstairs and put her on bed and went downstairs to the med bay where everyone else was. "How is she Wands" Steve ask me, I sighed "She took it better that what we expected but still it was hard, she started hysterically crying on my shoulder. It was really heart breaking Steve" "And we need to be by her side, it's gonna be more difficult to know that her mom knows all of us but doesn't remember that has a daughter. It's going to be more harsh" I rub my temple and got out a heavy sighed "I know. I know. Bruce how could this happen? What is the reason why she just forgot her daughter but not us?" "The impact was hard but not that much causing her a temporary memory loss. Wich means not all her memory is gone just segments of it. And apparently the segments that got erased of her memory we're the having a daughter part in her life" "Is her memory coming back any time soon?" Clint ask "It all will depend on her. We can help her remember but careful, we don't want to overwhelm her. The first step we need to do is to get Maya here and that Nat meets her" "No Tony, we are not going to make Maya pass for this. I mean it's already painful for her that her own mother doesn't remembers her. It would be worst if she sees her like that. I'm not going to-" "I can do it" suddenly I got cut off by a shaky voice. We all look up to the door and Maya was standing there with tears treating to get out but she was fighting the urge to let them out. I walk to her "Sweetie you don't have to" "I want to aunt Wanda. I want to get my mom back and I'm going to do whatever it takes to do it" "Are you sure you're up for this kiddo?" Steve ask her. She look at him and nod "Positive" "Alright let's go then. Wanda can you be the one to introduce her to Nat" Tony ask me "Yes, come on baby. I'm going to be by your side" "Wait. I love you guys but this is something I need to do on my own. So I'm going to please ask you to leave the minute I enter that room. Please" I kneel down to her level and start to rub her arms "Are you sure you can do this alone sweetie" "Yes aunt Wanda. Besides if I need you, you will know" "Ok then as you wish" I hug her and give her a kiss on her cheek "Good luck honey" "Thanks" she mumbles with a sad smile on her face. She walk to the door and stood in front of it, she took a deep breath and knock at the door and went inside. Instantly we did what she ask and went to the living room staying alert for anything.
Maya POV
When I pull away from aunt Wanda's arms I made my way to the door, I stood in front of it and took a deep breath reuniting the courage to knock. When I felt ready I decided to knock at the door and when I hear a faint "Come in" I got inside without hesitating.
Natasha POV
I was just laying down looking at the ceiling since I didn't have nothing else to do. I couldn't get out of here until one more day. I was really deep in thoughts, I couldn't get out of my head when Bruce ask me if I remember a girl name Maya. I was confused I never heard that name before. Suddenly a knock at my door got me out of my thoughts "Come in" I look at the door and to say that I was confused was understandable, in the door stood was a little girl not more older than 15 I could see. Green eyes that reflected sadness in them, A red long curly hair , it was like I was watching myself but younger "Um sorry to disturb you, I can go if you want" the girl said to me with a low tone but I still could hear her "Nono don't worry, it's okay. Um who are you my name is Nat, but I think you already knew that did you?" I chuckled a little at the end wich she smile a little "Yes I already know who you are, may I?" She pointed to the seat next to my bed "Yeah sure kid" she came and sit down and took a deep breath and started playing with her fingers. I could see that she was nervous "Hey kiddo, I don't bite you know. What's your name?" she let out a nervous laugh and look up at me and gave me a smile "My name is Maya" 'Oh so this is the girl Bruce mentioned before' I thought to myself. "Maya huh, that's a beautiful name. Your mom choose it?" Her facial expression change completely and her smile turn into a frown and she look down and again started to play with her fingers "I'm sorry did I said something wrong" "Nonono not at all. It's just that um... Ok you can do this Maya. Um ok, this can be choking at first but um, Nat, you we're the one who choose my name" I laugh a little and she look at me confused "Sorry it wasn't my intention to laugh kiddo, it's just that I'm sure that if I was the one to name you I think I would have remember" she sighed "Nat why are you in medbay" "Well because I got injured during the mission" "Where?" she asked I was confused what did she mean. Did she wanted to know where was the mission or where was my injury. I think she knew that I was confused "Your injury. Where was it?" "I think I remember Bruce telling me it was in the head-" she cut me off "Exactly. The injury on your head cause you to have a temporary memory loss. Which means you don't remember small segments, which sadly for me that means you forgot everything about...about me" that last part came more like a whisper but I still catch it. When I look at her her eyes we're glossy, she was fighting the need to cry. I don't know what got on me but I lean myself closer to her and took one of her hands and with my other hand I lift her chin up forcing her to look up at me. "Look I'm very sorry that I don't remember who you are but I promise you that I will work hard to do it ok. I don't know what it is but I'm kinda feel connected to you somehow" she smiled at me and hug me. That took me by surprise so I stay shock and didn't respond the hug, she notice and quickly pull away "I'm sorry" "Hey don't apologize it's fine. You got me by surprise that's all. Come here" I open my arms and she didn't think twice and jump in my arms and hug me like her life depended on it. "I love you mom" I tense when I heard the word 'mom'. "What did you say?" I pull away gently and look at her eyes. It took her a couple of minutes to realize what she said, she cover her mouth with her hands and started to panic "I'm sorry, I wasn't supposed to tell you. Omg I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it. It just got out. I'm sorry, I'm sorry Nat" I see that her breathing was starting to go fast so I cup her face "Heyheyhey Maya calm down ok. You didn't do nothing wrong, it's ok. I'm fine see, you need to breathe honey like this" I took her hand and put it on my chest so she could copy my breathing. After a couple of minutes her breathing was normal again "There we go. You're ok" she nodded. But now the real question got into my head. Was she my daughter? Well it would make sense, since she looks like a carbon copy of me but younger. "So I'm a mother huh" I said with a humorous tone which make her chuckle "I guess you are" I took her hands in mine and started to rub my thumbs in the back of them and sigh "Maybe I don't remember but um, I believe you. After all that would explain why was I the one who named you and why you literally are like a carbon copy of me" I caressed her cheek. "I promise that I will do my best to remember you again ok" "Ok"
