Y/N's POV

The first thought when I wake up is about her. She can't even leave me alone in the daylight, the darkness is always a secretive hideout, concealing my deepest thoughts. But the bright room only reveals the ridiculousness of my dreams, so far out of reach.

While I get ready for the day, my mind comes up with the idea of picking her up. Since I drove her home last night, she won't have a car to get to college. She would be needing a driver since the way to college is too long to walk.

So why can't I be the one to do it. Maybe it's a bit too bold, driving to her home without announcing my appearance at her door.

But my intention is purely innocent, caring about her well-being, not wanting her to get into a stranger's car when she calls an Uber.

I can't possibly ring at her door, she would drop dead to the ground or slap me for my actions. Not that I would be so opposed to it, but like I said, I need to take baby steps with her, so I don't scare her off again.

Therefore, I decide to just drive around her area, hoping I would coincidentally see her. And that I do.

"Ugh not again." She exhales as I drive past her, mirroring her pace of walking. The street is empty, fog hovering between the trees, concealing us from the neighbourhood's prying eyes.

I lean out of my window, taking a quick glance over her appearance. Brown trousers, white shirt and a black blazer over it. I try my best not to lick my suddenly dry lips not wanting to seem even more like a creep.

"Good Morning to you too." I smile brightly at her, not caring about her disappointment at seeing me.

Ms Hathaway rolls her eyes, continuing to walk beside the car. Over her one shoulder hangs a heavy looking bag, papers and a few books halfway visibly poking out of it.

"Is somebody in need of a chauffeur?" I ask her with a teasing voice.

She doesn't stop walking, her head stubbornly directed straightforward, not giving me a glance. The sight amuses me, a slight chuckle escaping my lips.

I scoff. "You seriously want to walk all the way to college."

She nods. "Actually I do. The morning air will be good for me."

"It's cold outside, and you'll be freezing before you get to campus. And also, that bag of yours doesn't seem very light to carry around for- let me think- thirty minutes."

"No worries. Drive along, y/n." She tries to wave me off.

I let out a frantic sigh. "Here I thought after last night you would be easier to get in my car."

"Well, you're not supposed to get into a stranger's car," she mentions, "Didn't your mother teach you that when you were little?"

My face crumbles at the mention of my mother, an uncomfortable feeling settling into my stomach. Even though her comment is entirely pure only meant to tease me I can't shake off the emotions that bubble deep within me.

I swallow hard, averting my gaze from her, staring at the steering wheel. I believe that looking at her kind eyes would bring me to tears, letting go of my pain.

Ms Hathaway notices my sudden change in expression, my smile from before vanishing abruptly.

Without another word, she walks around behind the car, throwing her bag inside with a loud breath, showing how heavy it must be.

Again she slips in the car seat, perfume, welcoming me like a comforting hug. The effect her scent has on me always surprises me, intoxicating my mind and tingling all of my senses. It's almost addictive to me.
