Sapnap's POV:
Ugh, this is no use. Staying on this pier for hours isn't going to get me any closer to Dream or Karl.
I stare into the sea, thinking about all the things that went wrong, what I could've done to stop them from happening.
I sigh. Where had Dream gone? It was a pretty bad storm the other night, what if the boat had gone over? That's not something I want to believe happened, but it's possible.
Or, maybe they're fine. Dream and the kid. Maybe it wasn't bad out there, maybe they were on their way back.
Just as in thinking about Dream, I hear footsteps coming behind me, and the eventually come to a stop.
"Oh, you're here. Good." I hear a familiar voice, and immediately turn my head around.
"Dream?" I gasp, running over to him and giving him a super tight hug.
"Hey." He chuckled, squeezing me back.
Pulling away, I raise my voice a bit. "Why haven't you been answering my texts or calls?"
"Well, you see.." Dream starts. "There was a storm and my phone kinda fell overboard, but.." He grins.
Dream's POV:
"But.... we found somebody along the way." I finish my sentence, and turn my head around, queuing Karl to start heading over.
I step aside, allowing the two to see each other.
Since it was getting dark out, it was a bit difficult to see. However, that didn't stop Sapnap from squinting to see who the person was.
As soon as he realizes who it is, he gasps. He started to rub toward the man on the other side of the pier, and Karl had done the same.
Once they got close enough to each other, Sapnap lifted Karl up, spinning the two around. That goes on for a few seconds, and then set him down.
"Karl?" Sapnap cups the other's cheek with his hand, probably seeing if he was real or not. "Where have you been?" He was tearing up.
"It's complicated." Karl responded, tearing up himself, but he let out a chuckle. "I'll tell you about it later."
"Are you alright?" He asks, examining his face and exposed skin, taking off his hoodie. "Here, it's cold out."
Karl smiled, putting on the hoodie. "Thank you.."
Sapnap returned the smile, pulling Karl back into a hug.
I wipe my eyes. I didn't think I was going to tear up at this, but it's sweet.
"I've missed you so much.." Karl mumbled, his head in Sapnap's shoulder.
"You have no idea." The other sniffled.
After a moment or two, Sapnap let's go of him, and turns over to me.
"What?" I ask, seeing his eyes looking into mine. Suddenly, he walks over to me, hugging me again.
"Thank you, Dream.." He mumbled. "Thank you for bringing him back."
"You're welcome, Sapnap." I ease into the hug. Then, Karl joins us both, and now we're all hugging.
It was really the least I could do for them, they've both done a whole lot for me.
I'm just glad that the two of them are happy again.
