Wendy may have just been a little girl, and sure, maybe little kids are more likely to adapt to changes, big and small, quicker and easier then others. But she felt the absence of one of her big brothers completely. She knew she wasn't the only either. Not at all.

It took everyone awhile to get used to Katsuki not being there most of the day. The younger kids cried at first. Even with the phone calls, letters, and when he'd visit once in awhile, it just wasnt the same. The older kids- and the caretakers- also struggled with it some. But, as their minds were more developed, they understood everything more.

Wendy knew this of course. Katsuki leaving for his school reminded her when their volleyball boys would leave for their training camps. Or when they had to leave a day or two earlier then the rest of them, so they could get ready for the game. Or even when the older kids took jobs and quest and would leave for awhile- sometimes days at a time.

Only this time it was longer. He was gone for much longer.

Now that he's staying at the dorms at the school only makes it worse.

When these older kids and an adult came into their home, you can imagine her surprise when she's sure she smells her big brother Kat. She may not have the best senses yet, not like her other two brothers, but she's almost there. She knows everyone in her family by sent, she even knows the way the walk, who's foot steps are who's. She's sure she's not the only who can do that last one though. Let's just say its nice to know who's coming and who's not.

So who was that? The one who smelt so familiar? Maybe I should go look...? What if it is big brother? Will everyone be proud of me for being able to tell its him? But wait- that short guy, with the purple balls on his head- why does he smell sour-?!

Her face started to turn green, the thoughts of the sour smell taking over.

"Wendy? Wendy- child, are you alright?"

"Huh?"

Snapping out of her thoughts, Wendy shook her head looking to her right.

"Oh- um- sorry Carla." Smiling sheepishly at the white feline, she continued. "I was just lost in thought for a second. I thought I smelt big brother Kat." She then whispered, afraid of being heard. "And- and the short guy with purple balls on his head- Carla he smells sour..."

Carla smiled at the younger girl, understanding showing in her eyes. "I understand, child. Why don't you just pay attention to the students and let them introduce themselves." She choose to ignore the remark about the sour smells, hoping to get the ridiculous thought out of her head.

Wendy nodded, looking towards the teenagers, already forgetting her thoughts from moments earlier.

"Sit up straight child. You don't want to be hunched when your older, do you?"
