Heaven
Mom went to the store and said she'll be back in a few hours so this was the perfect time to talk to Dane.
Dane scratched his head like he was thinking about what to say, "Even though nothing out of the ordinary has happened lately we still need to keep our eyes open. I feel like as soon as we let our guard down something strange is going to happen again."
"Alright I-"
*BANG BANG BANG*
Dane and I looked at each other with eyes the size of quarters, swallowed hard and walked over to the door. When Dane opened the door I noticed a tall, muscular man with brunet hair and green eyes.
"Umm hello, how may we help you?" Dane asked.
"Hello young children. I'm your neighbor. My name is umm... Tod.. yeah that's it" he said as he mumbled the last few words that left his mouth.
Dane and I looked at each other again but this time with confusion. There was something that made me, both of us feel uneasy about Tod.
"Hi Tod nice to meet you?" I said with confusion.
"Yes, nice to meet you young lady. May I ask what your name is?"
I looked at Dane making sure it was alright for me to give him my name and he gave me a look like he wasn't too sure about it. I did anyway.
"Umm yeah sure.. It's uhh, It's Heaven and this is Dane."
"Yes, Heaven, that's the name!" Tod said as he looked at me a little too close.
"Okay Tod please excuse me while I speak with Dane for a moment."
I closed the door, leaving a small crack, keeping my hand on the door knob.
"Dane, I don't feel right about this guy.. Why did he act like he was waiting for me to say Heaven was my name? There's something really weird about him. I feel like I've seen his face before but I can't put a name with it."
"I know what you mean when you say there's something weird about him. I feel the same way. Something doesn't feel right."
I opened the door up again and Tod was gone! Like he wasn't even there to begin with! Something strange was going on and I was so scared. You should feel safe in your own house right? Well we felt the complete opposite.
