Technological Advantage

Erwin would come out of his dream. He was day dreaming. He never felt at ease with the fact he's not hearing planes, engines, bombs, guns. None of that, just the sounds of people, conversing as if they were never in the biggest war yet, and the sounds of the old mechanical things like those wagons.. well calling them even remotely close to mechanical is a stretch.

He looked at the two kids that are apart of this... party thing for a goblin quest. Why was Erwin day dreaming? Well, he was in fact waiting for the boys to be all set and ready. They soon came into view once again, wearing uhhh, leather armor I suppose? The boys look happy that he is in their party so Erwin didn't mind giving a slight smile. He's not used to this, and he needs to get food in one method or another.

"Are you ready captain?"
Said one of the boys, looking oh so happy and positive. Erwin Hauptmann didn't exactly want to be doing random shit, but he has no choice. He needs to feed himself and find a way to supply himself in ammunition too. Erwin nodded to the boys and they did some cringe worthy jump but hey, they're kids.... Out here, assigned to kill things, yeah none of this makes any sense.

"Well, the quest would point us that way! Into the woods! We're suppose to clear out some goblin gang that can cause major ruckus to the dirt path ways."
Said one of the kids. Erwin just shrug and went along with the ride for now. However he isn't gonna let some kids lead him. When the three got to the woods, Erwin immediately took charge, and went ahead of the two kids. He decided to pullnout his Walther P38 sidearm. The kids looked and asked

"Mr, what is that? Doesn't look like a sword... or a bow, or even a crossbow."

"Well, it's a weapon far more dangerous, kid, that's for sure."
Said Erwin, he doesn't want to explain about a gun to kids that weren't even apart of the time period that dedicated guns existed. So they continued onwards and at the very least, those kids didn't ask much more they seem contempt with the answer given until they ask.

"Sir, what do you do before all of this?"
Erwin wondered how to lie his way out of this one. He didn't want to bring in attraction. He heard this ol' saying. Strong people attracts challenge. What a intelligent thing he remembers and it is true. After all, he's been apart of such a great war. Anyway, maybe instead of lying, he will just not tell them. Erwin says

"I'm sorry young ones but it isn't a pleasant story. Maybe when you two are older, then I will tell you the story."
The kids groaned to the answer but didn't want to push him to respond so they continued venturing onward. The kid with the staff then says

"We're in the quest area! We should be expected to find goblins soon."
Erwin pondered on what to do. He never killed or know what the fuck goblins are but it's stone rank quest so it must be easy to kill, at least with guns. He hoped his guns still work even in this random dream world. He still suspected that these goblins could still kill people because if these kids can still get rewards in money then there must be some sort of risk and especially if it is this kind of time period.

Now to think of it, two kids dying in his leading duty would be a embarrassment, and a in-erasable reminder of his failures. Especially if people wonder about his records in this world and find out what he failed to do. It would be easy to accuse him since evidence is horrific in this technological time period. So it's time to get a strategy going, he thought for a moment, moving more slowly while the kids slowed down. After some thought, Erwin says

"I want you, the staff boy to stay behind your buddy, if by any chance the staff attracts more attention, you protect him. I don't know if that leather armor would do you any good against these goblins, I doubt it. I will use my weapon to eliminate as many goblins as fast as possible, hopefully it would scare them off as we have a successful quest completed, does that sound good?"
